If you are experiencing issues with your GE Color Television AM/FM Radio Spacemaker where you are not getting any radio signal, it could be caused by a few different issues. Here are a few things you can check:

  1. Check the antenna connections: Make sure that the antenna connections are tight and that there are no loose or damaged wires.
  2. Check the antenna: Make sure that the antenna is properly positioned and that it is not damaged.
  3. Check the tuner: Make sure that the tuner is functioning properly and that it is not damaged.
  4. Check the audio settings: Make sure that the audio settings are correctly configured.
  5. Check the audio output: Make sure that the audio output is not muted or turned down.
  6. Check the power supply: Make sure that the power supply is providing the correct voltage and that it is not damaged.
  7. Check the signal: Make sure that the signal strength is strong enough to receive radio signal.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, I would recommend contacting GE's customer support for further assistance. They may be able to provide additional troubleshooting steps or may recommend a qualified technician to repair the unit.

How do you set the alarm?

I couldn't find a manual for this model, but you might be able to get information from the manufacturer. This information is from the GE site here:

In 1987 GE sold its home electronics business to Thomson®, Inc. For a time, Thomson® produced many products that carried the GE name, but now only manufactures telephone and communications products.

The items that they support but no longer manufacture include:

  • Audio products
  • Camcorder
  • Cassette recorder
  • CD player
  • Clock radio
  • Spacemaker radio
  • Spacemaker TV
  • Television
  • Video camera
For assistance with any of these older products or your current GE telephone products please call 1-800-447-1700 in the US. In Canada, call 1-800-522-0338 (English) or 1-800-522-0445 (French).

Thomson, Inc.
PO Box 671988
Marietta, GA 30006-0034

Try calling the phone number listed. They might be able to supply you with a copy of the manual. Hope this helps a little. Thanks for using Fixya!

GE Spacemaker TV/Radio combination Model #7-7650

Yes, you will need an external antenna to pull in the digital signals. It will not work with the built-in antenna on the GE. Alternately, you can use an external antenna (ie, rabbit ears), connect them to the converter box, then connect the converter box to the antenna jack on the back of the TV (I think it has one). Granted, not an elegant solution for a kitchen TV, but it beats not using it anymore.

GE spacemaker color television AM-FM radio

This is easily reparable by an electronics technician. AND is definitely worth fixing if you use the unit because they simply do not build this type of quality in newer models.

I would suggest to buy a contact cleaner and spray it inside the volume control to get rid of particles of dust that are creating the problem.

Ge spacemaker radio model 7-5402 problem

OK, I found out what the problem is.
ON my GE 7-5402 Spacemaker under-cabinet radio, the FM was only static. I've opened it up and there is a component which is failing. When I used a heat gun on the circuit for about 5-10 seconds, it started working and it stopped again when it cooled off. After some time I isolated which component it was that needed the heat in order to work. Here's where to find it:
  1. Remove the top (25 screws of various length)
  2. With the LCD facing you, look to the right of the CD-drive close to the large aluminum cooling fin.
  3. There is a single transistor with markings of: "D2012" and "6:R".

This transistor is the problem and I believe if it is replaced, the FM radio should work. I'm going to try it and see what happens. I think I found the right one online for less than $1.
Hope that helps you guys!
