Pfaff 7550 creative only sewing in zig zag stitch. The display is stuck in one stitch only and only in one size. None of the button functions are working. I have changed the batteries however this has not resolved the problem. Please help ? Many thanks.

On that machine you need to set the “width” knob to 5 or 6, as well as select an appropriate stitch to achieve a zig zag type stitch.

On Pfaff 7550, Menu button is stuck/ has lost its play. Absence of play prevents choice of stitches on display which does show. Reverse or Needle down, etc. buttons do not function when Menu is stuck.

What number is satin stitch on Piaf quilt expressions 4.0

A satin stitch is simply a zig-zag stitch that is shortened enough so the threads lay next to each other without laying over another but also without any space (fabric) showing between. Keep in mind that the thread weight will cause the satin stitch to differ.

I have a pfaff creative 4 and it won't zig zag, just keeps saying that the machine is set for straight stitch. How do I change this? changing the stitch width setting doesn't make any difference

Look under the tools menu. There should be a setting for straight stitch needle plate or something like that.

Needle arm is not centered and will not center. when machine is turned on the needle arm moves completely to the left outside of the range it should be in.

You probably have your machine on a different stitch than a straight stich, such as zig zag or a button hole.

Zig Zag Stitch not working

THis problem occurred as I was sewing on Neoprene. I was using Gutterman all-purpose thread and a size 80 needle. Tried switching to a size 70, then to size 90. Still unable to zig zag. After inserting a test sample of cotton, the zig zag worked perfectly, so I knew it was not a mecahnical problem. I switched needles again. This time to size 90 for stretch fabric. Voila! Problem solved.
