There is no light or display on the LCD and the buttons do nothing, no sound. So there is no way to view error codes to help. Metered to verify there is power to the motor controller module, and 24V to the wash controller module. There is no information on troubleshooting the LCD, or which pins on the ribbon to test and how much voltage. The heater plate reads 24 ohms, so the fuse/thermal link hasn't blown. Any way to narrow down where the fault is? Thanks
If there is no light or display on the LCD and the buttons are not functioning on your washing machine, and you have verified that there is power to the motor controller module and the wash controller module, it is possible that the issue is with the LCD or the ribbon cable that connects the LCD to the control board.
To narrow down the location of the fault, you can try the following steps:
If you are unable to diagnose and fix the problem on your own, it is recommended to have a mechanic or appliance repair technician take a look at the washing machine. They will have the necessary tools and expertise to properly diagnose and repair the issue.
Testimonial: "Thanks for the reply. This is located in a remote location, and getting a tech out will be difficult and expensive at best. I'm experienced with most home appliance repairs so I'm trying to troubleshoot as much as possible before resorting to a tech call out. The service manual for this unit isn't very helpful unless it throws a code. Just to be clear, this is a dishwasher not a washing machine. There are several controllers. I have checked the LCD ribbon cable to make sure it's seated. I guess the next step is to remove the LCD module and see if I can test for a signal or power from the wash controller. Power goes to the main board Motor Controller, then to the Wash Controller and lastly LCD module. On the main Motor Controller board all connected components meter out fine. While I haven't metered all the Wash Controller connected components, none of those should affect or cut out the LCD operation (temp sensor, drying fan, rinse aid coil, etc)."
Sorry, the above comment came through as a testimonial
While doing more troubleshooting, lost 24v to the wash control module, still had power to the main motor control board. Pulled the board and inspected it, one of the chips had blown. Actually burned a hole through the top of one of the microchips. Ordered a new main board.
