The LED does not turn on or even blink. I opened it up and found no obvious visual problem or smell. I disconnected the two cables from the power board ADTVI1206XA7 and with AC coming to the board I found 12V at the 8-pin connector, but not 5V. I figured the power board was bad probably wrong and installed a replacement board, which did not change any of this. With the cables attached to the replacement power board, cycling the power switch on/off did not change anything--doesn't turn on, no LED/no blink.
If you're missing the 5 volt standy voltage you won't see a standby light, reason you get a 12 volt rail is this set doesn't have a PWM power board. This only leaves one possible fault, the main board, or the CPU on the board is shorted and that's taking the 5 volt standy to around 0, replace the main board and the TV should work.
Try taking batteries out of remote then unplug tv then plug back in then put batteries back in remote then try to turn on with button on bottom back left side of tv
Testimonial: "Thanks but I mentioned that I cycled the power button on/off. Actually I don't have the remote so that's the only way for me to turn it on right now. We're getting power to the power board as demonstrated by having 12V as mentioned. What I need to know now is why standby is not operational, and how to test/fix it directly."
