The Sony SLV-D300P is a DVD PLAYER and VCR. It does not record DVDs. You would have to buy a combo unit with a DVD recorder, not just a DVD player.

The record button does not work. I need to replace the record button on the unit, it is broken.

If it is one that pushes on a small switch (ie just a piece of plastic that has detached from the front panel). The best way is to use a soldering iron to melt the plastic back to the front panel. Use protective glasses when melting it, plus in a well vented room. You might need to find a scrap of plastic from somewhere, just a small piece, to reinforce it. Airfix kits have waste bits in them, or just a pen top!
