You may have to disassemble the unit to remove the CD jammed inside.

Could be a dirty laser lens. Try cleaning the lens with a cotton bud or compressed air.

Free manual - unsure if it is the 1996 or not.

There are, but it's..... hit and miss.
The remotes don't cover all remote devices.

You will need the serial # and the brand B-4 you shop for a remote.

Do you have the old needle?

If so, you can match them up to charts provided by dealers.
If not, try to find out the make / model of the turntable chassis.
Providing some close up photos that would be a big help.

ask a shop or dealer-radio shacks pretty good with things like that.

This model of turntable automatically stops when the needle reaches the center(the end) of the record. The motor should turn back on if you move the arm to the far right of the player, past its resting spot.

You have problem with small spinning motor of lens. It can repair or just replace with new one at local shop or dealer.

There is usually a cotter pin at the center of the platter around the spindle base. This can be removed with a screw driver using a twisting motion. There is a blades worth of space between the clip and the spindle base. Screw driver should be in vertical position. Sometimes the vinyl slip mat must be removed first. Watch that clip, cause it can go flyin. Once the clip is removed, the turntable should let go easily.
