Re: Pioneer elite plasma 50" will not power up..Red stand...
The power supply went bad for your TV and there is a problem with the power supply also.Unplug the 2 cables that are attached to the media receiver and also from the panel and then try to turn the panel back on again and the media receiver needs to be reconnected again.

Power supply board is dead. The board where the power a/c cord plug into it.Replace the power supply board.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a refurbish power supply board for the replacement.
The gas has leaked out and can't be fixed unless you pay to have a new panel assembly put in. Sorry its trash now as you can replace it cheaper now a days.
Since your plasma is less then a year old, I would suggest to contact the manufacturers to get it fix under warranty. If the plasma keeps shutting off by itself, that is not normal and should be repair.
This a factory issue and usually requires service. Most cases it is a bad power supply caused by a surge or powering off and on too fast ... sorry I wish I had better news
