I have model cd 3424 and cant set clock

This was taken from a radio similar to yours. Same brand but different model. Hopefully it'll help.

(Also the "SEL" button it talks about is a big round button/knob on the right of the unit.)

Setting the Time

This receiver uses the 12-hour display notation.

1 Turn [SEL] button to select CLOCK ADJ.

2 Press the [SEL] button.
The clock adjustment mode is activated.

3 Turn [SEL] button to display the item to be selected for
adjustment.
Hours, minutes or exact hour will be switched each time the
button is turned.

4 Press the [SEEK / FAST] button.
[SEEK] button: Turns the time forward.
[FAST] button: Turns the time back.
To set the clock to 0 minutes, 0 seconds (an exact hour),
press the [SEEK / FAST] button.
For example:
At 3:29: Pressing the [SEEK / FAST] button returns to 3:00.
At 3:30: Pressing the [SEEK / FAST] button advances to 4:00.

5 Press the [RTN] button.
At this time, other adjustments can also be made in
Function Mode.

6 Press the [FUNC] button to exit Function Mode.

Hello there,
This is from Page 7 of the Owners Manual, found through Alpine's site.

to activate the SETUP mode.
2 Press or to select the CLOCK ADJ mode, and
then press //ENT.
The time indication will blink.
3 Press or to adjust the hours while the time
indication is blinking.
4 When the hour has been adjusted, press //ENT.
5 Press or to adjust the minutes while the time
indication is blinking.
6 Press and hold MUTE/SETUP for at least 2 seconds

hour.
• Pressing AUDIO/RTN will return to the previous mode.

normal mode automatically.

Where does the blue/white remote wire hook to.

Hi, I'm not sure I understand your question. It sounds to me like you haev a 1989 GMC truck, and you've installed a JVC CD player in it. The CD player has a blue and white wire coming out of the back, and you would like to know where it goes and what it does. Is that right? If so, then the blue/white wire labeled "Remote" coming out of your CD player is intended to turn on an external amplifier or some other "remote device". If your truck has a power antenna installed, this would be the wire that tells your power antenna to extend and retract. Many stereos have two of these wires - one for the power antenna and one for an amplifier. If you don't have an amplifier or power antenna, you don't need to do anything with this wire, just leave it alone and make sure it doesn't touch any bare metal behind the radio. Hope this helps.
