TRAY WILL NOT OPEN TO REMOVE CD - Computers & Internet

Unplug the machine. Have a look behind the tray flap. there should be a very small hole to push a paperclip or similar into to release the tray.

CD/DVD Drive Tray problems
There are two ways to open the CD/DVD drive door if the button just below the drive tray does not work.
Go to My Computer and right click on the drive and click on Eject.
If this does not work then you can manually open the CD/DVD drive tray by -
Straighten a paper clip and gently insert it into a tiny hole below the drive tray next to the Eject button. Push the paper clip gently until the drive tray pops out, then pull the tray until it is fully out, then you can remove the CD/DVD disc.
If you still having problem opening with the Eject button, then the CD/DVD drive is faulty and needs replacing.

to open CD tray you need needle (or some hard wire like needle) and put it to small round pinhole near CD tray button and you get tray open and can remove CD disk.

cd/rw drive has shifted due to unit being bumped, Tray is binding or blocked. Remove the back panel. Remove 4 screws on the bottom holding cd drive. Now you can push the drive slightly back. On the left side of the drive there is a white nylon cam. Push in with a screwdriver and the tray will open so you can manually remove your cd. You should be able to cycle the tray open and closed now. Replace the four screws but cycle several times after tightening each screw. Replace the back.

sounds like the belts need to be replaced. for that the units eject mechanic assy has to be disassembled.

If you are able to remove the cd drive form the laptop on top there are 3 very small screws remove those and then you can remove the stuck cd

ok there is a small hole below the tray, use a small paper clip
wire to push in that whole, push and the tray should come out.

if that doesnt work take cd player out, push plastic clips on side
and top at front , front plate should come off .

where small whole was in front look behind plate you will see a small little metal arm push on that

should be able to clear cd player then .

its very simple .remove the outer cpu case.then remove the cd rom open itplace THE TRAY in RIGHT MANNER ONCE AGAIN . donot try to move the tray of your cd rom without opening the cd rom ,it might result in a permanent damage

Problem is very simple, Switch off system, unplug from mains. Open the Cover panel, and remoove CD. Close machine. Plug into mains. Open Tray, put in anothrer CD, enjoy your music.
