I'm using eJay Dance 6, I can't save outside of the MIX folder and the MP3 files saved are corrupted.

How to Put Songs on Disney Mix Max


The Disney Mix Max portable media player is capable of playing audio files in the MP3 format. It can also play videos formatted as WMV and display photos formatted as JPEG. You can convert audio files into MP3 using the Disney Mix Max software -- Mix It Plug-in. The plug-in works with Windows Media Player 10. This software CD came with the player and is not available online. To download music to the device, you can use Windows Media Player 10 or Windows.

Convert Non-MP3 Files

Install Mix It Plug-In. Insert the Mix It Plug-in installation CD into the computer's optical drive. Click "Install Mix It Plug-In" when prompted. If no screen opens, double-click on the "My Computer" icon. Double-click on the installation CD icon. Then double-click on the setup or installation file; this file is often formatted as EXE. Select to have the program saved to your desktop. Then double-click on the desktop icon -- "disneymixitplugin" to open the setup wizard. Click "Next" in the setup screen. Follow any additional setup prompts.



Open Windows Media Player 10 and create a playlist. To create a playlist, click "Library" and select "Now Playing." Drag songs from your computer to the "Now Playlist List" pane. Click the "Now Playing List" title to open the menu and select "Save Playlist As." In the "Save As" dialog box, enter a name for the playlist and select "Save."


Open Mix It Plug-In. Select "Yes" when asked to save analysis information for your music files. The software will analyze each track's compatibility with the Disney Mix Max player.


Press "Go!" to start the conversion process. Once the process is complete, an inactive "Go!" will be displayed. All music that has been converted is still listed in your Windows Media Player 10 playlist. You are now ready to download music to the player using Windows Media Player.

Windows Media Player 10

Open Windows Media Player 10 on your computer.


Remove the USB jack cover located on the bottom of the Disney Mix Max. Insert the compatible end of the USB cable into the USB port on the Disney Mix Max. Insert the other end of the cable into the computer's USB port.


Click "Library" and click a playlist name. To create a playlist, click "Library" and select "Now Playing." Drag songs from your computer to the "Now Playlist List" pane. Click the "Now Playing List" title to open the menu and select "Save Playlist As." In the "Save As" dialog box, enter a name for the playlist and select "Save."



Select the "Sync List" tab and choose "Sync List" from the menu.

Verify the items to be synced to the Mix Max, or right-click on a song title and select "Delete" to remove it. Click "Start Sync" to download music to the Mix Max.

Windows


Insert the USB cable to the Disney Mix Max USB jack. Connect the player to the computer with the USB cable.



Click on the desktop "Start" menu and choose "My Computer."


Double-click on the "Removable Disk" that corresponds with your connected device.


Drag songs saved on your computer with your mouse into the Removable Disk folder.


Tips & Warnings

If you converted files using the Mix It Plug-In, you will need to use Windows Media Player 10 to sync them to the player.

It sounds like something has become corrupted in the main files. If you have all your photos, music and videos STILL on your computer - YOU DID SOMETHING RIGHT!

STEP ONE:

In order to not loose the Coby MANAGER FOLDER

1. Go into "My Computer" Coby will show up under "Removable Drive/ Storage"
2. Double Click the icon to open the Coby player.
3. Save ALL the system folders to a folder you create on your desktop.
(You might want to save everything including your music, movies and photos also! That makes it easier to restore them later.)
A. Right Click and Hold the Mouse on each folder -
B. Drag to the desktop folder you created
C. Release the mouse button
D. Select "COPY HERE" on the pop-up screen
E. Double check that your properties for the desktop folder is the same size, # of folders and # of files - as the ones on the player.
1. Go to EDIT /Select ALL in folder
2. Go to FILE /Properties
3. Choose "Properties"

If the same size, # of folders, # of files are both on your computer and in the player, Close out all opened folders (that you're using to view the contents of the player)
F. Disconnect the player from the computer using the Coby Manager or Safely Remove Hardware.


STEP TWO:

1. Go into Coby Manager the program is still on your computer unless you've changed computers or computer drives. (See Below STEP THREE)
2. Go to Device Tab
3. Make sure the Coby Player is TURNED OFF ! ! !
3. Attach player to Computer
4. It will show up in the Device Tab of Coby Manager
5. In the lower right hand corner you will see a button "FORMAT"
a. Take a deep breath, gently click on format, squeeze eyes tightly shut... Pray LOUDLY NO WAIT!!! That's not right... I digress...
a. Click on FORMAT
b. Let the program re-format the drive -

THIS WILL MAKE YOU LOOSE
ALL INFORMATION ON THE PLAYER ! ! !

That's why you COPIED all the information above to your computer, right???

STEP THREE:

The player will now be re-formatted, and will no longer have the Coby Manager PROGRAM on the PLAYER. You can download a new copy from here:

(But, you DID save it in the first steps, didn't you??) You will need it if you change computers, or computer drives...

6. Start re-synchronizing your music, movies, photos to your player. You can use the folders you originally used under the "Music" Tab, "Movies" Tab and "Photo" TABs.

OR

You can use the folders from the folder you created in STEP ONE.

Hi, I had the same problem with my Iriver E200. The cause is firmware corruption.

I solved this problem using this method:

1) connect your Iriver device to pc and open the disc of your player;
2) you can see various folders: open the folder named "system";
3) this folder contain a *sys file;
4) open this file using notepad;
5) go to the row "version = ...";
6) you have to modify this row by inserting an older version of firmware. For example if you have "version = 1.11", insert a smaller number, for example 1.07. Save the *.sys file edited. In this way you can force iplus3 to reinstall an uncorrupted version of firmware;
7) now open iplus3, go to Tools -> Portable device -> update firmware. You should be able to reinstall firmware.

I had the same problem. I finally discovered what to do, as nobody seemed to know what to do, even Philips. Here is what I did to get the program going, even though it didn't see the connected GoGear Vibe (which Songbird did see as connected.)
1) Find where your Media Converter is installed. Mine was located at C:\Program Files (x86)\ArcSoft\Media Converter for Philips2) Locate the file named "MediaConverter.SET", which is in the folder mentioned in step 1.3) Use a text editing program, like notepad, to open the file you found in step 2.4) Within the file, locate the line that says "ProfileNeedActivation=1". In my file, it was on the 31st line.5) Change the line from "ProfileNeedActivation=1" to "ProfileNeedActivation=0" That is, change the number 1 to the number 0 (zero, no the letter O)6) Save the file.7) Run the program & enjoy.
A couple of notes: You may not be able to save the file once you're done editing. On my system, there were permission issues preventing me from saving the file directly. When I tried to save, notepad informed me that I couldn't save in the folder, and offered to allow me to save to my Documents folder. I did that, then copied the file from my Documents folder into the correct folder, as found in step 1. When copying, I chose to copy and replace the file. When I did so, the system required Administrative rights, which I allowed. That worked.Another point to pay attention to, if you use notepad to do the editing... When you go to save the file, it will default to saving as a .txt file. That is, it will take your file named "MediaConverter.SET" and try to save it as "MediaConverter.SET.txt". Make sure you either rename the file properly when you're done, or select the file type of *.* (as opposed to *.txt) when you save.
Ok, hope that helps save someone else the frusteration.

You cannot save videos in SLS folder. SLS folder is to save the SLideShow(SLS).
The place to save videos is MTPmedia folder.
Now you can save and play videos.

You are either:

1. Using symbols like "/" in the filename
2. Or doing what I was doing which was trying to save the file in an (accidentally) locked folder. To fix this - right click on the folder and get info - open up sharing and permissions and make sure that your username has full read write access. I also clicked on the settings cog button and applied this setting to everything in the contents of the folder. The folder had somehow corrupted during a network transfer and this is what was making inDesign not play ball.

1. In Menu scroll down to Setup

2. In Setup scroll down to USB Mode

3. In USB Mode there are 2 settings MSC Mode & MTP Mode, check or highlight
MSC Mode. This enables the PC to recognize the player as a removable
Device or Drive.

4. Connect to PC via USB port/cable, the PC now reads the device as
MP-C70X5 (E:)

5. In WIN Explorer click “Open to View Files”, on display will be 6 .DIR folders
& a .xml file

6. Now launch the VideoConvert.exe (application file) located on the
installation disk.

7. Click Input Video button (Browse to the folder containing .avi files) & select
.avi file for .mtv conversion
(if you want to save the .mtv file to a different destination folder click the folder
icon to the right of the Video Output text box).

8. In Output Frame Size box check 176X144 (this is the max size for this
device).

9. In Output Frame Rate box check Sports Video.

10. The Output Audio Quality box defaults to Good.

11. Click Start Conversion button.

12. The saved .mtv file can now be copied to the device by simply dragging
from its destination folder or ctrl + C & ctrl + V to the MOVIE.DIR folder in
WIN Explorer as per step 5.

13 The .mtv file is now saved to the device ready for viewing, however there is
just one remaining small lissue which may a software glich or another hassle
with this player, because when the video is playing, every 60 seconds in the
background a womans voice exclaims what sounds like “Weeee Gamble”

try to search another video folder in the mp3 player using the My Computer of your PC if there ae no folders anymore try to save it outside the MVIDEO folder

It means that a sound or plugin that you saved with the file was corrupt, so you will have to scrap the project and start over.
