Unfortunately, you are probably dealing with a copy protection issue. The digital handshake can't be returned by your KLV3913.

You get the same issue if you connect a HDMI source (Blu-ray player) to a VGA monitor.

I wish that I had better news for you.

Testimonial: "The Roku stick has Model 3810X Also, the TV only has one connection which has a yellow tip. That is were I plugged in the yellow plug from the converter."

Which specific Roku player are you connecting to the TV? The most recent models output HD (720 or 1080 lines) or 4K content. Some of the earlier models of the streaming hardware did work with the converters. However, some converters were faulty out of the box and didn't work with any HDMI output device.

This page,https://www.manualslib.com/manual/371417... , indicates a more important issue that I missed. The composite port (yellow) on the KLV3913 is a AV out port for playing a DVD on another screen. It is not a video input.
The Roku 3810X is also called the Roku streaming stick + player. It's minimum resolution is 1080p. Most of the converters start having issues dropping the signal to the 480 of composite inputs. Cindy Wells

Does a Roku Stick Work on Any TV? The Roku Streaming Stick 4K is designed to be compatible with any TV that has an HDMI port. This means it will work on both smart and non-smart TVs, as long as they have an HDMI connection.
If your TV is analog, don't worry! You can still use the Roku Streaming Stick 4K by using an AV Composite Converter. This will allow you to enjoy all the features of the Roku Streaming Stick on your TV.

All Roku streaming players will work for any television with an HDMI connection, so any Roku player can be connected to a 4K UHD or HDR-compatible television. However, to stream movies and TV shows in 4K UHD or HDR you will need a compatible Roku streaming player and television that supports 4K UHD or HDR.

I have a Sanyo H TV, serial B7470223104461, model DP19657. Can I connect a Roku 3 to this TV?

You would need a converter (HDMI to component video) to use the Roku 3 with this TV. The Roku 3 only has HDMI out and the DP19657 doesn't have an HDMI input. The DP19657 has component and composite video inputs which would be directly compatible with the Roku 1 or Roku 2.
Here's one example of the converter you'd need: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/770115-REG/KanexPro_HDRGBRL_HDMI_to_Component_Converter.html .

I hope this helps.

Roku works with av jacks but not hdmi cable

You have to connect it with AV, go in the setup and change it to low definition. Then after it connects hdmi change the definition to high. I had to do it with mine like that.

WE JUST BOUGHT ROKU , HOOKED IT UP , CAN'T GET ANYTHING ELSE TO COME UP

Hi,

You must match the TV's input connections and the Roku output on your remote. This means if the Roku's output is connected to your TV's "HDMI 2" (or A/V 2, etc.), you must be able to select HDMI 2 (or A/V 2, etc) on the TV - either with your remote or pressing a button on the TV itself.

Sometimes, the TV will skip over unused inputs when it was first set up. This is done to reduce the number of button presses to go from say "HDMI 1" to "HDMI 4" by programming OUT the HDMI 2 & HDMI 3 choices.

You'll need to program IN the input that your TV uses to connect the Roku if it isn't already available. You MUST connect cables properly if not using HDMI. RGB is Red-Green-Blue and must be connected to RGB jacks at the Roku and TV for a picture and the the White & Red (left and right) audio must connect the the corresponding Red / White audio jacks - or it will provide strange results.

Make sure the power plug is connected to an outlet that is ON and connected to the power jack on the Roku box itself. Unless you have a defective Roku box or TV, it SHOULD work. You can try using a different HDMI or A/V jacks on the TV to determine if it is the TV jacks or not.

Good luck!

My roku streaming device is froze on this blue screen and will not change?

Glenda, Are you connected to your tv by HDMI or AV cables?
The blue screen is usually an indication of one of two things.
1: The HDMI cable has come loose but not entirely disconnected (Turn off Roku and TV unplug the HDMI cable from the Roku AND Tv and reconnect them making sure to seat the ends securely and turn on TV and Roku in that order)
2: your TV or receiver may not support HDCP (a content copy-protection solution) over HDMI. This is generally true for older TV models that have early HDMI implementations that do not follow current standards. Try connecting your player with the included A/V composite cable instead.

Problem with Vizio SV421XVT

I am also having the same symptoms for my SV421XVT. TV works great except all HDMI ports are not receiving signal. Devices work through the AV Ports, and TV reception is fine. New Roku box is also not working through HDMI but works with AV. Wish I had a solution to this.

On a another forum for another TV it was suggested that boards need to be replaced. I hope I can get these boards for a reasonable cost.
