Xerox 6655. I got a message 'a condition exists that prevents the device from entering the energy saver mode'. Any fix?

To take a Xerox 7835/55 copier out of energy saver mode, you can try the following steps:

1. Press the "Power" button to turn on the copier.
2. Press the "Home" button to access the home screen.
3. Use the arrow keys to navigate to the "System Settings" option and press the "OK" button.
4. Navigate to the "Power Management" option and press the "OK" button.
5. Use the arrow keys to navigate to the "Energy Saver Timeout" option and press the "OK" button.
6. Use the arrow keys to select the desired timeout value (e.g., "Off") and press the "OK" button.
7. Press the "Home" button to return to the home screen.

If these steps do not work, or if you are unable to access the System Settings menu, the energy saver mode may be locked by the administrator. In this case, you will need to contact the administrator to have the energy saver mode unlocked.

When u press the Energy Saver button, The machine will enter Energy Saver mode where all the display lamps are light off. Just leave Energy Saver mode, just press again the Energy Saver butto

1. Start or restart your computer.
   
2. Press the F10 key when the F10=Setup message is displayed.
   
3. Select the appropriate Language option.
   
4. Select the Power menu.
   
5. Select (if not already selected) the Energy Saver item.
   
6. Press the Enter key.
   
7. Select Advanced .
   
8. Press F10 to save the change.
   
9. Select Power > Timeouts > Hard Drive Timeout > Never .
   
10. Press F10 to save the change.
    
11. Select the Power > Energy Saver .
    
12. Press the Enter key.
    
13. Restore the desired Energy Saver Mode (Disable or Minimal).
    
14. Press F10 to save the change.
    
15. Select File > Save Changes and Exit .

Try maxing out your power save timers. Here are the instructions. I suspect the machine is going into power save mode to quickly. Here is how you do that.

NOTE: To save energy, the printer enters a power saver, low-energy consumption mode after a predefined period of time since its last activity. In this mode, most printer electrical systems are shut down. When a print job is sent to the printer, the printer enters the Warm-up Mode. You can also warm up the printer by pressing the [OK] button on the Control Panel.
If the printer is going into Power Saver mode too often and you do not want to wait while the printer warms up, increase the length of time before the printer goes into the Power Saver mode.
Modify the timeout value:

1. Press the [Up] or [Down] arrow button on the Control Panel to select [Printer Setup] on the Display Screen, and then press the [OK] button.
2. Press the [Up] or [Down] arrow button to select [Printer Controls], and then press the [OK] button.
3. Press the [Up] or [Down] arrow button to select [Power Saver Timeout], and then press the [OK] button.
4. Press the [Up] or [Down] arrow button to select the required timeout value (30 - 240 minutes), and then press the [OK] button.
   
   NOTE: Select a larger timeout value to extend the length of time before the printer goes into the Power Saver mode.
   
   
5. Press the [Up] or [Down] arrow button to select [Exit], and then press the [OK] button to return to the Main screen.

Actually what is happening is your machine is going into the power save mode and staying there for a long time.
What happens then is you get a full warmup. When the machine warms up, it will turn on the compressor and drain the resivour because Xerox wants a "fresh": supply of ink in the print head.
Its excruciatingly expensive and wasteful.
Here is something that can help. I am not sure you can completely disable the energy save mode. Thanks Al Gore...
