Devant LCD TV: channel always set to a certain channel (ex. channel 2) with out signal upon re-plugging or turning TV "ON". Is there a default channel setting? how to? thanks!

Do a hard reset to this TV, and then check. There are two methods to reset TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight is better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. I have a samsung tv , and im setting up my [email protected] , it ticks off everything but the Gateway Ping ! Please Help

If the Gateway Ping test fails, then your TV is not communicating properly with your Router or Modem.
To resolve this, follow these steps:
  1. Power off your TV, Modem, and Router.
  2. Unplug the power for your Modem and Router.
  3. Make sure the ethernet cable is securely connected to both your TV and your Router or Modem.
  4. Plug in your Modem and turn it on.
  5. Plug in your Router and turn it on.
  6. Make sure your IP Address information entered into the TV during the Network Setup matches the information from your Router or Modem.
  • If you are using an Automatic Setup (most users), skip this step.
  • If you are using a Manual Setup (advanced users), contact your network administrator to determine what the correct IP Address information is.
7. Run the Network Test again.
  • If the Gateway Ping test passes, but another test fails, click here to go back to the list of Network Tests.
  • If all tests pass, the TV is successfully connected to your network.
  • If the Gateway Ping test fails again, see below....
If the Gateway Ping test fails again, there may be a problem with your network setup. To determine if there is a problem with your network, follow these steps:
  1. Power off your TV, Modem, and Router.
  2. Unplug the power for your Modem and Router.
  3. Connect your ethernet cable directly to the TV and Modem.
  4. Plug in your Modem and turn it on.
  5. Power on the TV and run the Network Tests again.
  • If all tests pass successfully, then there is a problem with your Router setup. Contact your network administrator or router manufacturer for information on setting up your network.
  • If all tests do not pass successfully, there may be a problem with the TV. Connect another device (such as a Computer) directly to the modem.
  • If the other device connects to the internet, then the TV will require service. Click the Create online service request button below to have the TV repaired.
  • If the other device does not connect to the internet when directly connected to the modem, then there may be a problem with your modem. Contact your Internet Service Provider for help on troubleshooting your modem.

TV shuts off

I would suggest that you guys turn the unit off when this happens, unplug the unit for 30 seconds, plug it back in, and see if this helps. If this does not solve your problem, you should call 1-800-448-2244, so a service center in your local area can be found for further assistance.
