Hold your finger on the on/off button for about 15 to 20 seconds . That should shut down the tablet and reset it. I have had 3 tablets and everyone has reset from a frozen screen that way. Afterwards you should run your anti virus program and bolter to clean up what caused the traffic jam.
1) Power down your tablet.
2) Tap the power-on button and volume down button at the same time

Step 4. A new screen will appear asking you to confirm your selection. Use your volume down (-) button to highlight "Yes -- delete all user data." Press the power button to select once highlighted.
Step 5. Once the tablet is finished wiping data, you may press the power button to select "reboot system now." This will restart your tablet.
Step 6. The system will begin to reboot and once again display the RCA logo with Nipper and Chipper. The next "Welcome" screen will prompt you to select your language of choice. My contixo tablet will come on, but freeze in the contixo Android loading screen. When I plug it up to charge, it automatically comes on as my other one just shows the normal black screen with the green battery. I need help trying to reset it. It has no pinhole for a reset, and I have also tried holding down the power button and the volume + button and still nothing. Can someone please help me?!?!
Hi, you can try resetting by following the below steps. It works for most tablets.
1 turn off the tablet
2 press and hold the power button and keep tapping the volume down button at the same time.
3 it should take you to recovery screen. Go to factory reset by using volume button and select by using either the center button on the tablet or the power button if there is no center button.
And to reset it you had to the following: You hold the power button and -vol button together for about 5 seconds.
Then you let go of the power button and keep the -vol button still held until the android creature loads and gives you some options.
Choose factory/data reset using volume keys.
I'd suggest clicking on the "forgot password" link usually supplied after the first failed attempt on Android Tablets and follow the instructions. If this fails, do a hardware reset by depressing the small reset button with an open paper clip. While depressing the button restart the tablet. It shouldn't lose any saved files but will reset the OS back to factory defaults and allow you to input a new password.
I suggest you to perform a hard reset as sometimes this may be due to a software glitches chances are rare though but still you can give it try. Else you need to replace the touch panel of your table which I suggest you should not do on your own rather take it to a hardware shop. Hard reset in most of the android tablets is usually performed by turning off the tab and pressing power button while holding the volume down key.
