Re: Philips LCD TV 42PFL3605/98
The problem is that there is a vertical white line on your Philips LCD TV 42PFL3605/98. This line is most likely caused by a loose connection between the LCD panel and the TV's main board.
To fix this problem, you will need to open up your TV and re-connect the LCD panel to the main board.

I have 20 pcs monitor and after one year half of them had malfunction. smartimage with vertical lines back and forth and that all controls are locked that cant be unlock by holding any button. Some had white screen when Resolution exceed 1024X768 (when 1280X768) after a year.

Hi , it seems you are experimenting a light engine problem. Here's how your tv works: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLLHnQ4y-wo Basically there's 3 LCD chips that create the colors and image by blending together. When these chips start to melt you will get those blue spots, pixelation ,black and white picture, even vertical lines. You will need to replace the light engine. Have a blessed one!
it would be easier to find it stripped from a damaged set on ebay. I see several there but need the part number to search of course you may purchase that and find it to be the lcd driver.hopefully not.
