How do I diagnose which board I need for 4k TV that powers on but the screen is black?

Vizio v585-h11 2 years old Picked up secondhand Tried the different reset procedures recommended on Vizio's website, to no avail. You can see it turn on in, the screen does change slightly.

With the TV turned on, press the menu button and shine a bright flashlight on the screen at a shallow angle (about 20° from parallel to the screen). Move it around - if you can see the menu or other material where the flashlight is pointing, you have a backlight failure. This may be either in the power supply, or the backlight itself (sadly, with LED backlights, it's usually a blown LED).

Vizio V585-H11 blinks white screen
I've seen this issue many times on this series of Vizio sets, you have a bad EEPROM IC on the main board, either change the main or order and solder in a new IC if you have advanced soldering skills, needless to say the chip will be a fraction the cost of the board.

Take it in for repair or try and claim on the 3 year or 1 year warranty. They are a budget brand.

Need advice in fixing Vizio TV model V585-H11 Video
It can only be a bad connection or one of the 'new' boards you put in was faulty. Start swapping back the old boards one at a time. Make sure any ribbon cables are properly seated.

You might want to check the VIZIO website for help. Given how cheap even 4K UHD TV's are today, probably not worth fixing again. Unless under warranty, of course.

I have a 4 year old 47" vizio lcd about 6 months ago it startied taking a long time for the picture to come on turn on get the vizio screen then black for a couple minutes then picture. couple nights
Defective LED back lights strips, or damaged EEPROM on main board. I will try a main board first, if you do nor have a TV LED strip tester.

VIZIO TV Black screen. Cannot turn off TV without unplugging.
I had a similar problem after having a Vizio for 2 and a half years. I left the room for a minute, i came back and the screen went black. I didnt hear an arcing sound though. There was still power to the unit and you could see that the back light was working, just no picture, no sound, and you couldn't use any of the buttons. The only way to turn it off was to unplug it. It would then start up, with the Vizio logo going from orange to white, and then do the same thing all over, no pic or sound. I would check the ceramic fuse first on the board that gets power from the plug.

HOW I FIXED MINE: I ordered a new "main PCB" from tigerdirectparts.com (you can also use searspartsdirect.com). This is the circuit board with all of the inputs on it (hdmi, cable, etc.) I opened it up, disconnected the old one, put in a new one and now it works fine.I used both serial numbers on the board to search for it online. It cost me $144 to do it, but that's better than $450 for a new TV. My tv is the vx32l hdtv10a. I hope that helps.

Sounds like a bad power supply. I have a GV42L 42" manufactured in march 2007. It works perfect except the screen has a fracture on it. The warranty is voided because we damaged the screen. I can sell this to somone who has a good screen but needs boards or speakers, etc. Or I will buy your tv that has a good screen but damaged boards in it.

My Vizio D32f-F1 TV won't turn on. Any suggestions? The LED does not turn on or even blink. I opened it up and found no obvious visual problem or smell. I disconnected the two cables from the power board ADTVI1206XA7 and with AC coming to the board I found 12V at the 8-pin connector, but not 5V. I figured the power board was bad probably wrong and installed a replacement board, which did not change any of this. With the cables attached to the replacement power board, cycling the power switch on/off did not change anything--doesn't turn on, no LED/no blink.

Which board controls the volume of the M60-C3? I have a Vizio M60-C3 that occasionally has no sound. It does not matter if I use the internal TV speakers or the Sound Bar. When this happens, if I try to raise the volume, the the volume control scale displayed on the TV will start to rise but then go back down to zero. Almost as if I am competing against another remote lowering the volume while i am trying to raise the volume. After one or multiple reboots, the tv will work normally for a while.
