Lowering feed dogs You can lower the feed dogs by moving the switch at the back of the free arm to the left. Move the switch to the right if you wish to raise the feed dogs. Note: The feed dogs will not raise immediately when the lever is switched. Turn the handwheel one full turn or start sewing to re-engage the feed dogs.

Remove all the top thread from the machine, ALWAYS RAISE the presser foot and rethread from the beginning (this insures the thread is completely seated in the tension disk). Verify the thread path is correct.
Set the top tension to the midway point (the factory standard), but you may need to tweak it because every machine differs.
if the machine is still under warrenty, I would take it back. if you got a manual with the machine it should have a section in it for the deleting, if all else fails contact pfaff customer service and ask them what you can do, here is a link

"Hello, I have the ambition 1.5, absolutely love it. To switch the font to normal stitching you have to delete or save the sequence. To delete it just tap the little garbage photo and to save tap the heart. With that done you then go back to your stitching tab select a stitch and tap the little garbage bin to erase sequencing and go back to normal stitching."
bobbin case should be stationary, bobbin itself is rotated as thread unwound, check hook timing. Simply turn hand wheel towards you and watch needle go down, when it reaches lowest point turn it slowly until needle rises 3/16" or so. Hook should be behind needle and slightly above eye.
You may have a jam under the needle plate. Take it off and have a look.
It is often a simple case of one of the threads not passing through the tension discs correctly. Try re-threading upper and lower, making sure the presser foot is up at the time.
Are you sewing a fine material? Sometimes fine fabric gets pushed down through the universal needle plate hole which is slightly elongated. If this is the case you need a straight stitch needle plate. You cannot do zig zig or anything other than straight stitch with this plate.
If re-threading does not do it and you do have a soft fabric, try popping some freezer paper or similar under the first few centimeters of sewing before buying another needle plate, it might work.
