Does it fill, stop, have a space where the wash would take place and then drain, fill, and do the rinses, but no agitation? It sounds like the motor, or the control board / control knob depending on the unknown model. You need a service call if power resetting doesn't make it work.

Amana NTW4700YQ Top Load Washer will not drain

Hopefully you have it under warranty. You will probably need another wire harness. Double check your outlet to make sure it is grounded properly because they will 'nit pick' and tell you it is your fault for not having a properly grounded outlet.

Amana top load washer fills with water and will not stop filling

Hi...

You need to check this

  • Check the drain hose, it should be at least as high as the top of the wash tub, about 38 inches.
  • The drain hose must sit loosely in the house drain. Do not seal the air gap around the drain hose or a siphon will occur.
  • Check the drain control lever
  • Test the drain control coils
  • Check the cam bar
Good luck !!!

Amana top loading washing machine

I used another wash cycle. It has worked fine until today, so I can't think it is a hose situation problem. I will probably have to have someone come out and fix it.

Water Drains out as fast as it is filling

You have too much of the drain hose inside the drain line causing the water to siphen out as its coming in. Pull some of the drain hose out and secure the hose. There should only be about 8 inches or so of the hose inside the pipe.
