Lavazza Classy Plus LB400 stuck in "rinse" mode after descaling - help!!
I have descaled my LB400 one time before, no issue. The descale light came on a few days ago so I ran the descale again. On the second tank of water (rinsing) the machine beeped and it stopped rinsing. No flashing lights. I thought ok, guess it's done! I was wrong, it appears to be stuck in descale mode. Cannot initiate descale again, nothing happens. Coffee selection (8oz) is maybe 2 oz. when selected with or without a pod, it "runs" for 10 seconds max (like on rinse cycle). I have tried unplugging for 5 minutes, no luck. I got this machine in March 2022, love it, but can't afford to replace it. Customer service is practically non existent. Please Help! I need !! My Lavazza coffee....
Re: Lavazza Classy Plus LB400 stuck in "rinse" mode after...
If your Lavazza Classy Plus LB400 coffee machine is stuck in "rinse" mode after descaling, it could be caused by a few different issues. Here are a few things you can try to fix the problem:
Check the water tank: Make sure that the water tank is properly filled and that the water level is high enough to complete the rinse cycle.
Check the water filter: Make sure that the water filter is clean and not clogged. A clogged water filter can prevent the machine from completing the rinse cycle.
Check the descaling solution: Make sure that the correct descaling solution is being used and that it is being used in the correct amount.
Check the hoses and lines: Make sure that the hoses and lines are not clogged or blocked.
Check the machine's firmware: Make sure that your machine's firmware is up to date and that there is no error.
Perform a factory reset: If the above steps did not resolve the issue, then you can try performing a factory reset on your machine by following the instructions in the user manual.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, I would recommend contacting Lavazza's customer support for further assistance. They may be able to provide additional troubleshooting steps or may recommend a qualified technician to repair the unit.
If your machine is stuck in descale mode and you are unable to initiate the descale process again, it could be a problem with the machine's control board. The control board is responsible for managing the various functions of the machine, and if it is malfunctioning, it can prevent the machine from completing the descale process.
Another possibility is that the descale sensor is not working properly, it might be stuck and it's preventing the machine from exiting the descaling process.
Here are a few things you can try to fix the problem:
Try to unplug the machine for a longer period of time, like 30 minutes, and then plug it back in to see if that resets the machine.
Check the water lines and hoses for any clogs or blockages, as this can prevent the machine from completing the rinse cycle.
Contact Lavazza customer support for further assistance. They may be able to provide additional troubleshooting steps or may recommend a qualified technician to repair the unit.
If none of the above steps resolve the issue, I would recommend you to contact a professional repair service.
It's worth noting that the troubleshooting steps might vary depending on the specific model of Lavazza Classy Plus LB400 and the cause of the error.

17.3 Descale Over time, the continuous heating up of the water used to make the coffee leads to lime scale building up in the inner circuits of the appliance. When the message: DESCALE flashes on the display, you should perform the descale cycle. For subsequent descaling, use descaler of the same type and brand as supplied (available from technical service centres authorised by the manufacturer). • attach the water spout to the nozzle; • place a container with a minimum capacity of 1.5 litres under the hot water spout (Fig. 3); 34 C o l l e c t i o n • press the OK button.Descaler runs off from the hot water spout into the container below. The appliance displays: APPLIANCE IN DESCALE • the descale programme automatically performs a series of run offs and pauses to remove lime scale deposits from inside the coffee maker. • After about 30 minutes, the appliance displays: RINSING FILL TANK The appliance must now be rinsed through to eliminate residues of descaling solution from inside the appliance. Proceed as follows: • empty the water tank, rinse and fill with clean water. • Reposition the tank. • Empty the full container and then put it back under the hot water spout. • Press the OK button. Hot water is run off from the spout into the container below and the appliance displays: RINSING • When the water tank is empty, the appliance displays the message: RINSING COMPLETE PRESS OK • Press the OK button and refill the water tank with clean water. • The descale programme is now terminated and the appliance is ready to make coffee again.
Try doing another rinse cycle until water tank empties. I had to do that a couple of times, then the red exclamation mark came on. Then I turned knob to off position, refilled water tank, pressed the descale button for 6 seconds, green light came back on and it did its priming.
HI
To automatically descale your machine, press the scoop or menu button and hold it down until you enter the menu. Use the arrows to scroll up until you come to Descale. Press enter and the machine will enter the mode to descale your machine. The process takes about 45 minutes. You don't have to do a thing except mix a full water tank with descaling solution and have a container under the steam wand when your start. If you have a cappuccinonatori on your machine you will need two containers. To start the descaling process, simply turn the steam knob. When the process is over your machine will say, "Descale finished". Remove your water tank and rinse it out. Refill it with fresh water. Replace on the machine and start the descaling process over again to rinse your machine. Go back into your menu and scroll up or down 1 to "Signal Descale" and enter. Choose "Yes" and push enter so the machine will tell you when you need to descale again.
