Fix display lines justification on Aastra M5316? It’s so left justified that first bit of info is cut off.

I can set the time and date but can only see the last digit of the year and time when I'm done. Only the last few digits of phone numbers calling will show in Call Display. It seems that everything is justified too far left.

To adjust the display lines justification on an Aastra M5316 phone, you can follow these steps:

  1. Press the "Menu" key on the phone.
  2. Use the arrow keys to scroll to the "Contrast" option and press the "Select" key.
  3. Use the arrow keys to adjust the contrast of the display until the lines are fully visible.

Depending what system your provider is using it can either be done by you at home or they will have to set it. If you call your provider they will help you or they will fix it. Each ring is set at 6 second intervals so if you have 3rings that is 18 seconds. If you was 6 rings then ask for 36 seconds etc. hope this helps

It is especially easier to read 'accounting' numbers where the decimals line up.

Generally, left-justifed is best for non-number alpha characters/words.

Center-justify is best (maybe) for column headings, etc.

Need to adjust date and time on screen.
Just above the Hold button, with the Aastra name display, that is a sliding piece that will uncover your setup menu button. Press that and navigate to time/date settings.

Thanks to the folks at Microsoft for setting that as default in 2007.

Go to the home ribbon, you should see in the heading styles, a style called normal. Right click on it and select modify.

Here you can select the defaults for the normal template which is used each time Word starts. You can choose your default font, size, etc. Underneath the font you have four sections. The first one is the justification which should usually be left justified. The 2nd one is important, this is your single-double-triple spacing icon. Select the first one. The next one after that helps to fine tune that a little bit. Click the two arrows point towards each other until the spacing doesn't get any smaller. Make sure that you select New documents based on this template, then click OK. If you have any further questions, let me know and I can assist further. Do I need a network?
If that model phone has a rj14 jack ( standard phone jack) and when you plug it into a known good wall jack and you can draw dial tone then it will work. If not it requires a KSU to interface with the lines and that's a lot more equipment than you need for 1 or 2 lines. Thank you. Jer

Janome CMX30 only works when foot pedal is pressed in? I've not used in a while but display, light and functions only comes on when the pedal is pressed.
