How to remove door COVER from door of LG Microwave model LMHM2017ST

LG Microwave model LMHM2017ST. Over the past year, numbers and functions on the number pad stopped working. I bought a replacement door from a dent & scratch supplier. I replaced the door and the functions work fine. Now I'd like to replace the brushed silver door COVER from the new scratch&dent door to the original door. How do I take apart the door to remove the brushed silver COVER?

Here are the steps to remove the door cover from the door of your LG Microwave model LMHM2017ST:

  1. Unplug the microwave from the power source.
  2. Open the microwave door and locate the four screws on the inner edge of the door.
  3. Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the four screws.
  4. Carefully separate the outer door panel from the inner door panel.
  5. You will now see the door cover attached to the outer door panel.
  6. Use a flathead screwdriver or plastic pry tool to gently pry the door cover off of the outer door panel. Start at one corner and work your way around the edge.
  7. Once the door cover is removed, you can replace it with the brushed silver cover from the new door.
  8. To reassemble the door, simply snap the new cover onto the outer door panel and then reattach the outer door panel to the inner door panel using the four screws you removed earlier.
Make sure to be careful when removing the door cover, as it can be fragile and may break if handled roughly.

Our LG over the stove microwave oven LMHM2017ST is powerless.

A thermal protector on the magnetron may have opened. Normally, these reset within a few minutes. If you've had the oven off for more than an hour, and it's still lifeless, then you may have a bad connection somewhere. A defective magnetron will not cause an oven to be dead if the main fuse has been replaced - at least not immediately.

Reset lg microwave LMHM2017ST

As far as I am aware, you can reset the microwave entries with the STOP/CLEAR button. This is the only way to clear all entries on the oven.

I have LG lmhm2017st microwave and some times the buttons won't work but now it inputs 11:11 start all by it self over and over again . If I leave it unplugged for a few minutes it will start to work...

If you have warranty use it asp, from the description the problem is in the keypad "membrane shorting" or the microprocessor control board is becoming intermittent, it will get to the point and stop functioning.

Our LG microwave (LMA 1560SW?LMA1560SB) has a door that won't open. The open button will push in, but not release the door - the plastic button cover pops back out, but just the cover - not the whole...

Mine did this too. Also, at times when I would shut the door, the whole keypad would go dark and the clock would have to be reset. There were also times when I would push Start and it would do nothing. I'd have to unplug it so it would reset itself.
I used a screwdriver and forced the door open. Mine is about 2 years old and it's now dead. Biggest piece of junk I've purchased in years. Really ticked me off, no more LG products for me. I had a Toshiba that lasted me 22 years and the only thing that went bad on it was the light stopped working and the fan cover fell off.

Door won't open

What usually breaks is the door open lever, but it may also be that the rear side of the door open button has worn down too far to work.

On a counter top model, the outer cover will need to be removed to diagnose and repair this. On an over-the-range model, only the control panel needs to be
removed.

If yours is a DMT2420 or other counter top model that is built into a cubbly hole and surrounded by a metal grille (built-in kit), the kit will have to be removed, then the oven will slide out of the opening.

Once it's out, you can remove the outer cover and you'll be able to see how the door open button would press against the door open lever, which would then lift up against the door latch heads (hook-like projections on the door) and the door should open.

The model tag will either be on the back or around the door frame or control panel frame, or maybe inside the cooking cavity.

We have several Dacor microwave service manuals at our site:
It's a pain, but for Dacor the parts list are separate:
Once you have the part number of the part you need, you can order by part number here.

(This site does not list Dacor by model number, only by part number)

Door slammed and no microwave is dead

yep you got it in one, I must have advised about 10 people today about this. when the door is slammed the door protection circuit does not operate correctly and then takes out the mains fuse inside the unit. renove the case and locate the fuse, normally where the cable enters the unit. as long as the fuse is the correct amperage, lenght and diameter you have no problems. do not test the unit with the cover off and be careful as the capacitors can hold a lethal charge
