My 5200c has worked well for years but recently got water under the card cover - which fried the SD card. Luckily I had backed up the Navionics files a while back. Coped the files to a new card. I know the 5200c is reading the new card because it offers choice of maps that are on the card BUT it doesnt display them. If I zoom out to 2000nm radius I see an outline of australia(!) but zoom in to normal range (say 20nm) and there is no map despite me having selected "Sydney to Tasmania" in the map data settings. Any ideas?
Navionics specifically says that the SD card software includes a program to defeat copying / duplicating the card. If they didn't you could sell copies on eBay. It wouldn't surprise me if it shows just enough to make you think the copy is good after you have duplicated it. The only way to test would be to put it in another Chartplotter.
Hi,
Please test the backup sd card on another GPS if possible to see if the zoomed-in section of the map file shows up or not. If it shows, then you'd need to send in your lowrance gps for repair from the water damage.
Thank you.
