We have a total of 10 extensions but for this 1 extension, if you dial it internally it will not ring but answers the call immediately. For outside call it will ring.
Here are the trouble shoots we did so far.
- switched the device
- restart the PABX
- replaced the cable
but still not working.
any idea what might have caused the problem.
thanks

Re:
There could be a few different reasons why this is happening. Here are some things you can try:
Check the extension settings: Make sure that the extension in question is set up correctly in the NEC SL1000 system. Double-check the extension number, ringing pattern, and other settings to ensure that they are all correct.
Check the phone: Try swapping out the phone itself to see if the problem is with the phone rather than the system. Test the phone on another extension to see if it behaves the same way.
Check the wiring: Make sure that the wiring for the extension is correct and that there are no loose connections or broken wires. Check the wiring all the way back to the PABX.
Check the programming: Check the programming of the system to make sure that there are no conflicts or issues with the extension in question. Look for any programming errors or conflicts with other extensions.
Check for system errors: Check the system logs for any errors or messages related to the extension in question. Look for any error messages that might indicate a problem with the system or with the extension itself.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, it may be necessary to contact NEC technical support for further assistance.

If you recently dialed 4-0 or 4-1, those are Do Not Disturb and Call Forward codes. if this is what happened, then dial the cancel code for both, which is 4-2. This is with internal dial tone, don't grab an outside to do this. You could have someone dial your extension to test if the ringer is faulty. if their call comes in as voice announce, have them add a 1 to their dial sequence and their call should switch to audible ring, and you will know it's not a ringer issue. Adding a 1 can be done continuously if you want to switch back and forth.
.. I don't have a solution, I need a solution.
NEC Dterm Series I, through internal calls my phone flashes notifying me that I have a call coming through but it doesnt ring. I have tried the volume key ^, that didn't work. Can anyone help me?
the phone is in IN/OUT mode if you call the phone from another display phone it should show the ext you are calling in a IN/OUT mode. to remove this you will need to place a key on the phone through programming. the key code is 821. once you have programmed the key, press it once and the phone will work.
Not sure if I understand your question correctly, but I think I just learned how to do that on an electra professional. Memory block 4-1-1 lets you go through each of the internal extensions, and you can set each extension to ring when a call comes in from any/some/all of the outside lines. to reach memory block 4-1-1, I used a multi line terminal connected to ports 1. Press fnc => hold => # => 0 => * => line key 4. Use the fcn(?) key to cycle through the internal ports, the line key buttons to map each of the 4 lines (presumably line keys 1 through 4 on your system). As to where to get a manual, I am not sure, I have 3 thick binders... good luck
You can toggle each individual phone extension as to whether or not it recieves a "voice" call or a "ring-first" call.
At the extension, press "SPEAKER - 60" it will display the mode. Press the * (asterick) key to toggle between the modes. Then press SPEAKER again to set.
