Kenmore coldspot model 106 53532300 leaking on the floor, freezer side.

Water is leaking on the floor. Inside fridge & freezer working properly. It's not the water filter; it was changed 2 months ago with no problem.

Check the external back of the for a pipe coming from the freezer that has a plastic u-bend in it or a rectangular block. This is the condensate drain from the freezer defrost system. Usually you get a dump of water in the middle of the night, so you come down in the morning to a puddle. Remove the part and soak in bleach and hot water. rinse, flush and shake the residue out. Sometimes but not often the drain under the freezer evaporator fins is blocked with ice. To fix that you have to remove the panel inside at the back of the freezer.

Or the drain inside the fridge side is blocked. Similar issue but not as severe.

Videos in the link that show the issue.

Hi,

please double check that your freezer door is closing properly. You can also pull the fridge out and check whether the water is coming from the back of the of the fridge. If not, then that means there's a leak under the fridge and if that's the case you'll need to schedule a diagnostic on the fridge. You might reach out to Kenmore over the phone directly to ask them to send you a technician for this.

Thank you.

To remove and replace the freezer floor:
1. Lift both back "fences" up and out.
2. Remove the freezer floor by pulling it out about 1 in.
(25.40 mm) with one hand around the air tower section
(center back) and one hand at center front.
3. Lift up floor at rear until hooks release from cabinet and pull
the floor out the rest of the way.
4. Replace the freezer floor by sliding the floor straight in until
the hooks drop into place at rear of cabinet.
5. Replace "fences" by aligning pins with socket in the floor, and
pushing down until they snap into place.

Best to you.

Kenmore Coldspot Model 51572200 is leaking water all over the floor

On the bottom rear of the refrigerator as you are looking at it from behind the left side where the water is feeding into there should be a double valve. 1 is for the water and the other to the icemaker. Many times that valve won't shut off, however the switch that dispenses the water is evidentially bad and needs to be checked if it is stuck open.

I know this is strange but here goes. I have a Kenmore Coldspot side by side Refrigerator. This past summer, it was leaking water out the front freezer door. We turned off the water and called a repair...

Turn off the fridge. Remove the freezer bins in the bottom. Defrost the drain line with a hair dryer. It is on the lower back portion of the freezer. Break up the ice on the freezer floor and dispose of it.
Discard any old freezer food. Change out the water supply line with a copper line if you are using a plastic line.

Kenmore coldspot side by side refrigerator - freezer fine. other

Good to see you put your model number down correctly. Do the lights come on inside when you open door? I noticed your refrigerator has a control board inside the fresh food section behind the control panel I want you to unplug the refrigerator and examine that board for burn marks or loose solder connections on both Sides. Then let me know what you find. Thanks, Sea breeze My email is [email protected] Web Site http://servicepartstec.blogspot.com/ Part Number for Control board is 8201528

Hot to touch

there is another fan at the bottom, rear, of the refigerator. remove the bootom panel and look at the cooling fins to make sure they are not bent into the fan blades. Caefully bend the fins away from the fan. this should improve the cooling of the refrigerator and get rid of the hot spot on the rail between the refrigerator and freezer.

Water gushed out freezer door, possible solenoid problem?

The drain is clogged. The drain is usually located inside the freezer on the bottom shelf to the rear. Use a meat baster and a solution of 1 tsp. baking soda and 2 cups of hot water-not boiling to unclog the drain. You probably also have about 1/2 inch of ice build-up on the bottom shelf. This will have to be removed first.
