Brand new Delta faucet and battery case will not stay closed. Only one week old!

Open the battery case and realign the batteries with the positive and negative poles in the right positions according to the layout in the battery compartment. Close the battery compartment. Make sure it locks completely before continuing.

Locate the reset button, if any, on or near the battery compartment, after changing out batteries.

Push the red reset button to reset the faucet.

Test the faucet to ensure the reset corrected the problem.

Tip
Not all automatic faucets have red reset buttons. Some faucets just require inserting new batteries or realigning the batteries in the compartment to complete a reset. on the faucet. Check the instructions that came with your automatic faucet or locate the user's guide online at the manufacturer's website.

Well it most likely only need lubed but if you are going to take it apart to do that you may as well go with new parts. Witch ever you decide be sure to use what they call plumber lube it is made just for this purpose and will last longer then say WD-40. If you live in an are that has real hart water then plan on doing this every year or so.

You should check with delta I know where i but my plumbing supplies a lot of the delta brands have lifetime replacement parts on them so ask your lumberyard where you purchased it Delta may send you replacement parts for free. Good luck.

Yes, you are on the right track, but Deltas use a fancier kit inside them. It is quite a bit pricier than an O ring, but will solve the problem. It is not hard to install at all.

Kitchen sprayer stays running and won't shut off
From your description it sounds like the sprayer is stuck open. Replace with a new sprayer or rebuild. Higher end faucets rebuild. Lower end faucets replace. Without the Brand or Model# this is my best guess.
