We see this here on Fixya all the time, and this explains the reason. The most likely reason is that one of your new boards was faulty, so you carried on replacing boards that were fine.
The led driver may be on the main board or on it's own board. Led strips don't fail all at once so if you had a dark area of the picture then I'd suspect a led strip. TV Parts Universal TV Stands DLP Chips ShopJimmy This is the place to get parts.
Sounds like a backlight problem to me. If you input a signal to the HDMI or Composite input and then it goes black have you tried taking a flashlight to the screen to see if the picture is still there but just dark? That would indicate a backlight issue. That model appears to be an LED edge lit backlight, so if the picture is still there after going black your going to have to trace out the backlight circuit and see whats going on. Usually with LED backlighting if it comes on at all then the LED's are good, its just the driver supply thats failing to keep them on. Some TV's have a small separate board that provides the backlight control, but i suspect with this model its on the power supply board and not the motherboard. Have you checked that board? It could be bad caps on the power supply board, check the voltages to the backlighting when it lights up and then when it goes dark. It could just be some failed capacitors on the power supply causing that voltage rail to drop off.
yes the led backlight for whatever reason is not functioning and that is the root cause of your problem. Unfortunately to find a replacement led backlight is tough as the backlight is normally fixed with the lcd panel and has to match the voltage and all that stuff with motherboard. and if that doesn't match you might short the tv itself. this case is as good as getting a replacement lcd panel.
Hi, checking user manual there's no soft reset option so maybe the main board is faulty too, usually when there's a damage by lighting in power supply this also reaches the main board since they aren't electrically isolated.
This is probably caused by a bad "inverter" board inside the screen housing.Don't worry they are relatively inexpensive and easy to replace.
However, some laptops have a failure on the motherboard which causes the backlight to go out, because the inverter, which powers/controls the backlight, depends on power and a PWM signal from the motherboard.
Backlight problems are almost never caused by the backlight itself.
andy the reason that you can shine a light on your camera and see an image is that your backlight is not working either due to a broken backlight bulb or the backlight inverter board the controller board failed
