replace the switch or thermostat

no the bottom element stays off when rotissereie is used . if it was on the liquid that drips from the cooking meat would smoke or might even start a flash fire ....... if this answer helped please rate a3 or 4 stars this high rateing will help keep me in the paid answer department thank you

Found 1 parts distributor who has the part supposedly in stock, but shipping was pretty expensive so I'm waiting:

Cost was $10.66 but shipping is even more than the part! At least you can get one if you need/want!

Fusible link inside the unit is probably broken.

I have two tubo ovens. Would anyone know if they are all supposed to "ding" or "ring" when the timer goes off. My one does. Bought both used at a thrift store diff times

I think this is a common problem with these kind of toaster ovens. Mine isn't a Toastmaster - mine is Cook's Essentials (from QVC), and my upper elements have also warped and split, although mine are curved downwards.

:-) Same here, in the middle of cooking the toaster just died. O' well, i am a tech! i opened the unit and diagnosed the problem. the unit has a non-resettable high limit thermostat that blows open when reaching high temperature. the problem is that when it happened, the oven wasn't even hot and was only on for a bout five (5) minutes. From my experience, it is due to a design defect. from all i have seen so far, it doesn't seem that the company cares about its reputation or customers... what can you expect from the French?!

A toaster oven is a cross between a toaster and an oven. But unlike a toast, you can cook things in it like you would on a regular oven. It might also be more comfortable than a regular oven, because it heats up faster and saves energy. I even bake cookies in it! The only problem is that it is usually much smaller than a standard oven, so you probably won't be able to bake a birthday cake or a roast in it. Other than that, it's a very useful device. have fun!
