Acer aspire 4743 not charging but all Okay.....

The solution to your problem lies in one of the following three areas:

1.) Your acer aspire 4743 charger is faulty and is therefore not able to pass power to your laptops battery.

2.) The charging connector on the laptop has come loose from the contacts. Therefore a bad connection.

3.) Your battery is faulty.

I think possibility 2 is the most likely, although you will have to test possibility 3 by removing the battery and plugging in your charger and seeing if the laptop powers on.If it does power on then that rules out possibility 1 and 2 leaving a faulty battery.

Blue sreen error in my acer laptop

go into bios, set it to defaults then install. try a fress partition, delete the old one and create a new one, there might possibly be artefacts from a previous bad install. I would test memory/hard isk for errors before I started installation if it has been running badly, problems here might be causing the BS, as might motherboard issues

Good Luck with it

Hi

you could try to press F8 on startup eg press power key then press F8 holding down for a few seconds and hopefully it will take you into some repair options

i would try the last known good configuration option to start with
then windows will restart and try to repair it back to when it was good

and if that dont work try the safe mode/system restore

hope you get it sorted

many thanks

My laptop says entering set up but does not enter. it says enter F2 for set up. when I press F2 key it says entering set up but nothing happens. When I switch on the laptop if I press the ESC key it says...

Nice way of experimenting , but if you want to continue working on your machine without errors, just load the default settings and save them while you exit. Also make sure you have the battery replaced on the motherboard.

Acer aspire one - its died!!!

If it was just the hard drive, I would expect the video to come on and say something like "no boot device."
However, since you went through the steps here and see absolutely no video (even none on an external monitor), I would suspect a motherboard failure.
Be sure that when you hooked up an external monitor that you pushed the Fn key and the appropriate special function key (maybe F7) that switches between the laptop and external monitor. If you have done that (pushed the combination several times to switch displays), then you can be pretty certain your video card (if a separate card) may be bad.
I'm not really sure if this machine has a separate video card. The specs say it's a ATI Radeon Xpress 1100. This leads me to believe it may be a separate card.
If it's just the card that went bad, you can replace it. Otherwise, the motherboard will have to be replaced.
Good luck. You can do that, but if you're not confident, you best take the machine to a repair shop.
