My mouse pad has stopped working on my dell latitude d420

unfortunately if your trackpad isn't working the solution is probably a new laptop. Take it to your local dealer for more information.

My Dell Vostro 1014 laptop's touch pad does not work!! The buttons work fine but I'm having problems with the pad. The drivers are up to date and the application used to control the touchpad c

If you have a external mouse, or you can borrow, go into device manager to see if the pad is enabled, if okay! try a system restore bringing the computer back in time before this happened, if still no luck the sensor pad maybe defective, the last option a complete recovery of the operational system to factory setting, this will prove if the sensor pad is defective, or wire ribbon might have come loose from the motherboard.

I have a Dell M5030 and I cannot type a document with the touchpad on. Can you please tell my in layman terms how to turn the pad off

Depending on the laptop, there can sometimes be a button towards the top of the keyboard that can turn it off. If there isn't one, sometimes with Dell's there is a key combination (Fn + one of the F1-F12 keys) that will toggle it on and off. If you have another mouse attached, you can go to Start>Control Panel>Mouse and select the touchpad and click "Disable". (Only do this if you have another mouse attached as you will not be able to reverse it without a mouse)

I have a dell xps M1330. Its mouse pad is behaving weird. If I try using it, it doesnt work but if I keep holding a shortcut key(play/stop/volume keys) while using the mouse pad it works fine. Any help?

hi,

your mouse pad dose not connect to the ground of device so when you keep and hold any

shortcut of keyboard , this connection done , and mouse pad work.

for this you (if you can) or a technician must remove the keyboard and change the flat cable

between mouse pad and devise .

good luck
