Stoves 900GTFThermal Switch

My Stoves 059040358 has suddenly stopped working, both Top Oven and Bottom and because it is Insured I contacted them and they came out twice, and both times they did not repair it, On the last visit, the Chap said I think it is your Thermal Switch so I asked can it be repaired and he informed me that he had looked on his Tablet and the part was obsolete so I asked for any details that would help when I spoke to the Insurance Company, I have been waiting to hear from them and so I was wondering if you had one that I could buy for my Stoves Cooker, It is in excellent condition and I do not want to lose it if I can prevent doing so. Can you help

If you have paid for warranty insurance, read the small print. I think you will find, if it is not repairable, they must replace it with an equal or better unit.

Testimonial: "Thank you Admin Eric I have Insurance for this Stoves, but although the Stoves is absolutely outstanding so the Engineers have said, it is about 20+ years old. I have not heard from the Insurance Company yet as the last Engineer said he would send a report to the Company. I just wanted to know if such a part existed for my Stoves so that if the Insurance were difficult, I know I could replace it with the appropriate part which I assume you have. Thank you for your help and I think I hit the incorrect button. Whoops!! Sorry."

Thank you ADMIN Eric your help was great, but you did not say whether you had the part.

WE don't sell anything, this is a help and advice forum, sorry.
Try espares.com or your prefered domestic appliance service centre for advice and supply. Throw it back at your insurance company, they took your money and they are liable for repai/replacement, depending on your policy of course.

Just moved, can not get stoves double oven to work light and fan comes on both ovens but no heat

On the main oven, does the circulating fan at the back of the oven start to rotate when you switch it on and does the fan oven neon illuminate as well.
For the top oven, the heating element is not very big so the oven takes a long time to warm up. Does the top oven neon illuminate when you switch this on as well?

Hi Guys I have a Stoves 720EF Double Oven and Grill. Whilst halfway through cooking some sausages on the grill this evening, the grill suddenly stopped working (plus the LED for the grill knob showing...

If the element and the indicator light both stopped working this suggests a problem with the power supply for the grill control. Either the grill control has no power going to it or it is faulty and requires replacement. If you are not sure what you are doing you'd better get a tech. to look at it, it can be fairly complicated for the untrained person.

If the fan is working o/k, then I would suggest that bthe oven fan elementt has failed.

I have a Stoves double oven and after a power cut the clock has stopped working and the main oven is not working either. the clock is completely off. the small top oven is still working though. what can...

The clock controls the ovens. In other words, directly you set any time on the clock, a contact operates within it to provide power to the ovens. (Normally the grill remains operational). You may need a new clock/timer. Before you do so, try switching the power off at the main isolating switch and leaving it off for a few mins, then switching it back on, to try to get the clock to operate. You may need to do this a few times.
Normally Stoves stick a label identifying the model on the left hand edge of the lower oven. You see this when you lower the main oven door. it will probably start with a 05 and be 9 digits long. With this number you can identify the oven and obtain parts.

Bottom oven is not working even though the top one is 720EF model

When you turn the bottom oven on, does the fan start to run in the oven? Do the oven lights come on? Does the main cooling fan switch on? Does the oven control knob illuminate? Does the thermostat neon illuminate?
As a guide, the power/control for the bottom oven is via the main switch on the front panel. Power then goes from the switch through the thermostat to the the oven/element/fan. The lights go direct from the switch.
I hope this helps.

Oven stopped working halfway through cooking. grill still works but top oven also stopped working

Sounds like to overheat device(s) kicked in. Is the background cooling fan still operating? i.e. that is the fan that continues to run for about 10 mins once everything on the device is switched off.
As well as hearing it, you should be able to feel a gentle draft of air coming out of the gap between the top and bottom doors.

I have a stoves 720EF Heritage - electric - the top grill is not working - does it have a reset button?

No, there is no reset button. However, the grill will only work when the front is down as there is a microswitch which operates to provide connectivity when it is in this position. This is to stop the grill overheating. The switch could have gone faulty.
Does the top oven work ok?
When you operate the grill there are two options, part or full. Are they both failing? Does the cooling fan switch on when either grill is operated?

Stoves 720ef grill not working

The grills appear to be independant of each other. Does the oven still work and the oven light come on?

Depending on your answer it could be that the Top Oven Switch has gone faulty. The Grill Regulator and the Switch work together on the top oven. To get at both you will need to take the top of the oven off.
