Hi,

Please double check that the button that causes your item to move upwards isn't being accidentally pressed because this might cause the continuous motion that you're experiencing. If this does not work, please reference the troubleshooting section of the device manual for this issue. Thank you.

Broan QS3 Nutone Allure III Range Hood. Has anyone tried to disassemble the Braun QS3 controller to degrease or repair it?

Question edited for clarity. This appears to Broan rather than Braun. Added full model name.

This answer on Fixya hints that the original boards were faulty. I thought he was from Broan, but it sounds like he is a repairer.

We have a Broan Eclipse downdraft vent system. How do we remove the filters to clean them?

In the front, right behind the stainless steel section put your hand there. You will feel a plastic tab. Gently pull it up. There are 2 of the filters - one on each side, each tab is located roughly 4-6 inches from the edge.

I have a Broan 2736 Eclipse downdraft blower system. When I push the button the downdraft rises but then immediately goes back down

Gail was spot on. That worked for me until the unit would go up and/or down on its own. The problem was traced to the double microswitch called the 'Lower Switch Bracket Assembly' ($24. thru Lowes ). To replace these switches is not for the faint of heart as it is deep within the assembly. A good weekend mechanic can look at the exploded parts diagram and see what / where. Found grease residue on- and slightly within- the microswitchs due to Broan not properly design shielding and protecting these critical switches from grease. Did not find any ghosts, however.

I have a Broan Elite 2736 downdraft range fan that is 3 years old. Upon using it , it started to go up and then down without stopping until I unplugged it. I replugged it in and it continues to go up and...

Broan model 2736A won't stay up

In my case, I pushed the button, the housing goes fully up, then right back down. I removed and disassembled the unit for cleaning. After Assembly I located two microswitches that cause the extension moror to stop at the top and at the bottom of the swing. In my case, the inertia of the motor caused the unit to "Coast" thru the top of the stroke and continue back down. I bent the outer 1/3 of the metal tabs that depress the microswitches so that the unit stopped rising a wisker sooner and no longer goes back down without pushing the button. The same coasting theroy may apply at the bottom of the stroke. The motor that runs the up and down motion is controlled by three switches, the two limit switces plus the momentary push button switch. If you don;t need to completely remove your unit for cleaning, the microswitchs can be located by removing the fan housing and looking up from inside the cabinet (under the stove) on the right side. IN my case, there was 10 years of goop to be removed.

I need a heating elament for my Braun model qtx100HL-A ceiling fan heater. I took it out and it is a 6260 eichen 120 v / 1425 watt

My Nutone Model 765HL uses the same heater; I tried the Broan-Nutone website but they were out of stock. Finally found it at Central Vacuum Stores for $35. Here's the direct link: http://www.centralvacuumstores.com/nutone/Broan-Nutone-Heater-Elements/QTXN-Series.php

My blower wheel on our nutone 9093 vent fan keeps

Buy a tube of Household Goop, and put some on the front and back of the hole the motor shaft goes through and glue the wheel in place. Make a little 'pile' or filet around the shaft/wheel joint. Let it dry a couple of hours.Goop is extremely handy, sticks like glue should, stays flexible, is cheap, etc.

Install a Thermador UCV36 cook'n'vent

Hi schmidt_rich,

I'm Harvey the Master Plumber.

Your question is: You took over as owner builder when your builder "took the $ and ran". You are installing kitchen cabs now and discovered the PVC vent pipe (which goes into the foundation and out the side of the house) is in the wrong place for the location of the downdraft unit and integral blower. The vent is actually under the electrical connection panel. You were told initially( 2 yrs ago when you bought the downdraft cook'n'vent) there could be no bends in the exhaust fan route or it would change the effectiveness. Does anyone know if it is ok to put a bend in the connection to the vent? Or do you need to redo your kitchen cabinets?

I can syphathise. I have had to deal with this same problem. I have found that one ell will not degrade the effectiveness enough to notice. If you need more then you may need to adjust cabinets.

Loose blower wheel assembly

place the push nut below the blower wheel. Don't bother with the top. The centripetal force tends to push the wheel down. The push nut in this position will prevent this.
