I have a Gateway GT5056, no monitor will work.

I have a Gateway GT5056 with integrated mother board. I cannot get a monitor to work although the pc itself seems to be booting fine. Is it possible to install a new board just for the monitor?

The video card you have is integrated into the motherboard. You would have to buy a whole new motherboard to fix the problem. It would almost be cheaper to buy a new computer though.

Will my Gateway GT5056 support a dual video card?

I assume you're referring to an SLI or Crossfire setup, if so I'm afraid not. The specs page for your computer, http://support.gateway.com/s/PC/R/1008835/1008835sp3.shtml lists only 1 PCI Express slot.

My integrated video card died so I bought a compatible new video card GeForce 7200 pci express. Monitor doesn't work with new card because the drivers for the old card haven't been uninstalled. I am going...

does your motherboard identify your new video card? make sure to put the new video card on the right slot. then check all the cables which is connected on your monitor going to the tower. make sure to connect the vga cable of the monitor to your new video card. try to power on computer and install the video card driver which comes with your new video card.

Signal to monitor goes in and out, mostly out

Hopefully, it is just the on board video that has gone bad, and not the motherboard. When you install a video card on a PC, that has on board or integrated video, you will need to access the BIOS screen on start up and disable the on board video. That way the video signal will come from the new video card and not the on board video.

I hope this helps,

Eric

I Have a gateway M1621 that I plug in a different power adaptor (output 48v). My laptop suposed to recieved 19v. What do I need to chage?

Hi jyasa,

More likely the mother board - because about all the modern laptop built today are integratedly built into a single board, where the power port is also integrated.

Hope this helps and good luck.
