Question about Toshiba TEC B-472 Thermal Label Printer

I am working with 2 Toshiba SX8 thermal printers. The text recently started shifting downwards for no aparent reason on both printers. Jobs that I have printed fine the last couple weeks have sudenly started doing this. I an printing on papaer that is 32mm high, printing 9 rows at font size 7. I have a technician over here but he can't figure it out either. I need help! Thanks

If you are working with windows driver check in stock - label detection and set it to transmissive labels. I think you have now Continuous.

Several reasons may cause this problem.
-On Tec printers, the height of the labels must be the most precise possible. You must include the gap height in the command
{D0350,1000,0320|} for la label size 100 mm and 32 mm high and 3 mm interval. If this information is missing, the printer may work correctly for some time and suddenly you'll have your phenomenon.
- You may have a label stuck under the sensor.
- You may need to recallibate your sensors.
- the correct sensor is not selected

Go to the Start run window and type Net Stop Spooler and press return and then do teh same and type Net Start Spooler after doing this try and redelete the job, if this fails do another Net Stop Spooler then navigate to C:\WINDOWS\System32\spool\PRINTERS and delete all the files in this folder then do a net start spooler all jobs should now be gone, Be aware that option 2 will delete all spooler jobs, so if this is a shared printer or server that these jobs will be lost

The machine was moved to another location. the message states "close lower side cover" the door is closed. there is a crack in the hinge of the door. i press on the door and nothing happens. ...


Turn the power switch off.
If the printer has an external Ethernet adapter (an additional device that connects the Ethernet cable to the printer -- often this adapter will be a small gray or black box attached to the back of the printer), unplug its AC adapter from the power source.
Save your work and shut down your computer.
Wait a few seconds, plug the Ethernet adapter back in first, and then turn the printer back on.
Turn the computer back on

If the printer remains unresponsive, check the print queue for the printer, there may be other users' print jobs blocking up the queue. To check the queue on a Windows computer, go to Start -> Settings -> Printers and double-click on the printer. On a Macintosh, double-click on the printer on the desktop. If there are numerous print jobs stuck in the queue, cancel any jobs you own. If there are jobs owned by other users, you can contact those users directly or call the Help Desk to request assistance unblocking the queue.

If the queue is empty, try creating a small text file and print to the printer. If this prints correctly, the problem is likely with the other document rather than with the printer.

If the text document does not print, have another user print a small text document from their computer. If this document goes through, the problem may be with your computer rather than the printer.

Windows users should remove the printer by deleting it from Start -> Settings -> Printers and re-add it from its NTPrintServer queue.

Macintosh users can throw the printer in the Trash and reinstall it from the Chooser. If the printer no longer appears in the appropriate AppleTalk Zone, it may have been taken off the network or its AppleTalk name or zone have changed.

AppleTalk printers can occasionally lose their configuration and "forget" their zone. If you no longer see the printer in the appropriate zone in the Chooser, check the Unconfigured zone. If the printer has never been given an informative AppleTalk name, for example if a default name like "HPLaserJet6M" was never changed, there may be more than one printer with that name in the Unconfigured zone. If there are multiple printers with the same name in a zone, they are automatically assigned a number (#1, #2, #3, etc). To figure out which is the correct one, turn off the printer and see which one disappears from the zone. When you turn the printer back on, you will be able to pick out the correct printer.

Issue Print jobs are stuck in the print queue (spooler) on a computer running Microsoft Windows connected to the print server. Nothing prints, and the print job in the printer's queue shows a status of Printing . These print jobs cannot be deleted even on the server, and it will not disappear or print until the Print Spooler service is restarted. Solution For Microsoft Windows Server 2003 and Microsoft Windows XP Professional x64 Edition, a fix is available in Microsoft Knowledge Base Article, The Print Spooler service may stop sending print jobs to a printer that uses the standard port monitor on a Windows Server 2003-based computer . Click here to view Microsoft Knowledge Base Article 934885 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/934885) . To prevent this issue from occurring, disable the bidirectional printing support for each HP printer driver installed. To do this, perform the following steps:
  1. Click Start , point to Settings , click Printers , right-click the icon representing the printer to be modified, and then click Properties .
  2. Click Ports , click to clear the Enable Bidirectional Support check box, and then click OK .
NOTE: Sharing a printer over a network is a feature of Microsoft Windows and not HP printer specific.

How do i cancel a print job?


Method A: Press the cancel button or use the cancel menu
command on the printer

The most obvious way to cancel a print job is to find a cancel button or a
cancel menu command on the printer and to press it. So, if you have not already
done this, try this method first.

If this method worked for you, you are
finished with this article. However, you may want to read the "Prevention tips"
section to avoid this problem in the future.

If your printer does not
have these items or if this method did not work for you, try Method B.
Method B: Turn the printer off and on
loadTOCNode(2, 'resolution');
Next, try turning the printer off and then on. With certain printer models, this
cancels the print job.

If this method worked for you, you are finished
with this article. However, you may want to read the "Prevention tips" section
to avoid this problem in the future.

If this method did not work for you,
turn your printer off, and then try Method C.
Method C: Use Control Panel to cancel printing

This method is a bit fancier. We will use Control Panel to try to cancel
printing.

But what exactly are you trying to do? Are you trying to cancel
printing only a single document, or are there other print jobs that you want to
cancel? And are all the print job yours, or are there print jobs that other
people have sent to the printer? If you have to cancel documents that other
people have sent to the printer, you must have Computer Administrator status or
you must have permission to cancel the print jobs. If you are using your own
printer, you most likely have Computer Administrator status. If you are printing
to a shared printer, you might have to ask the system administrator to cancel
the print job for you.

To cancel one or more print jobs, follow these
steps.

  1. Click Start, and then click Run.
  2. In the Open box, type control printers, and then click OK.
  3. Right-click the icon for your printer, and then click Open.

    • To cancel individual print jobs, right-click the print job that you want to
      cancel, and then click Cancel.
    • To cancel all print jobs, click Cancel All
      Documents on the Printer menu.
Note If you cancel a print job that you did want to
print, make sure that you send the print job to the printer again.

If
this method worked for you, you are finished with this article. However, you may
want to read the "Prevention tips" section to avoid this problem in the
future.

If this method did not work for you, make sure that your printer
is turned off, and then try Method D.
Method D: Stop the print spooler and delete all spooled
files

If you tried Methods A through C and you were not successful, Method D should
work for you. If you came to Method D immediately only to delete a print job,
some of what we say here might not apply to you, so please bear with
us.

Method D is somewhat more complex and will require a bit more work
than the other methods, but don't worry. Method D looks much more difficult than
it really is.

First, in case that you don't know how printing works, here
is a short explanation. Print jobs are sent to the printer as spooled files.
This means that the files are put in a temporary location so that the printer
can access a print queue and print jobs at its own speed. If you stop the
spooler and its files, most of the time, you both cancel printing and delete the
print job.

Note To use this method, you must have Computer
Administrator status. If you are using your own printer, you most likely have
Computer Administrator status. If you are printing to a shared printer, you
might have to ask the system administrator to cancel the print job for you.
Step 1: Start Notepad
loadTOCNode(3, 'resolution');
To stop the print spooler and its files, we will have you create and run a
script file that will automatically stop the service. This sounds difficult, but
it really isn't. Just follow these steps carefully.

  1. Click Start, and then click Run.
  2. In the Open box, type notepad, and then click OK.
    Notice that a blank Notepad document opens.

Step 2: Copy a command script to Notepad

Now we will have you copy and paste some commands to the Notepad document.

  1. Carefully select (highlight) all the following text:
    net stop spooler
    del
    %systemroot%\system32\spool\printers\*.shd
    del
    %systemroot%\system32\spool\printers\*.spl
    net start spooler
  2. Right-click the text that you selected, and then click Copy.
  3. In Notepad, right-click in the blank document, and then click Paste.
  4. Carefully select (highlight) all the following text:
    C:\DeletePrintJobs.cmd
  5. Right-click the text that you selected, and then click Copy.
  6. In Notepad, click Save As on the
    File menu.
  7. In the File Name box, right-click, and
    then click Paste.

    Note Notice that
    this file name differs from most other file names that you might have seen. That
    is because this file is a command script file.
  8. Click Save.

Step 3: Run the command script file
loadTOCNode(3, 'resolution');
Now that you have created the command script file, you will run it. To run it,
you will copy and paste the name of the command script file in the Run box.

  1. Carefully select (highlight) all the following text:
    C:\DeletePrintJobs.cmd
  2. Right-click the text that you selected, and then click Copy.
  3. Click Start, and then click Run.
  4. In the Open box, right-click, and then
    click Paste.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Notice that the Command Prompt window opens to run the command script
    file that you created. Notice also that this window closes automatically when
    the command script file has finished running. If you do not see the Command
    Prompt window open, check that you saved the command script file by using the
    correct name and that you entered the correct command script file name in the
    Run box.
Note If this method does
not work the first time, or if you cannot print anything after you use this
method, restart your computer, and then try again.

Printer reading H 4 and will not print


PRESS THE CLEAR KEY -THEN PRESS EXPOSE MODE KEY - PRESS CLEAR KEY AGIAN - PRESS EXPOSE MODE KEY. THIS GETS YOU INTO SIMUALTION MODE. PRESS 1 then 4 THEN HIT START.. if it does not clear the heat lamp could b bad or thermal fuse or thermistor

Help me with Zebra TLP 2844


The printer only understands EPL code. (Eltron Programming Language) If you are trying to print text from DOS it wont understand (interpret) the txt codes.

To verify that the printer is working.

Open a DOS box, start the dos editor. Type Edit. Dos editor will open.


Type a single capital letter U. and print. Send to printer. The printer will print a configuration label.

EPL code to reset printer is

^default.


If you want to print a text file. use the Zebra Universal Driver. Zebra TLP2844. Open any windows application. E,G, Notepad. type text and send it to printer. Print as normal.

If you use the "dynmo letratag 2000", just press the shift button (the green arrow button) and then the letter "N" (above that letter you should see the text "2=").

That will add a carriage return on your current position and the following text will appear on the second line when printed.

Job in queue


Let me exaplin the cause why the jobs get stuck in queue: When ever we try to print there is a windows service called print spooler that manages the print jobs in queue. We can clear the jobs in queue by just disconnecting the usb cable and restarting the print spooler service. Here are the steps to restart the print spooler : 1.Click on start 2.Then click on Run 3.In the Run box type " net stop spooler " Then press enter Note: Type the text with out inverted cotes in the run box this will stop the print spooler service Next we have to restart the print spooler 1.Click on start 2.Then click on Run 3In the Run box type " net start spooler " and press enter Once done reconnect the usb cable and check for the jobs in queue. If there are no jobs in queue you can set the print directly settings to avoid this issue in future. Just open the printer and faxes folder and right click on the printer icon and select properties and then click on the advance tab and under it select the option print directly to printer and click on apply and Ok to save the settings. Once done try to print this should resolve the issue.. Wish u success..
