If you set the computer up with a Microsoft Live account, you can log into Microsoft Live (from another computer) and reset the password. You should also be able to reset the password from your computer (password hint, or online link). If it is a local account, there are some software programs that allow you to reset the password. If you take it to Best Buy, they can reset it for $30. I'm sure other shops have the same ability.
