Did you try to reinstall the EZ software? perhaps you accidentally removed (a part of) a program.

Maybe the restore function only works with the original piece of equipment. Ouch.

I used the backup now ez to take all my photos, etc off my desktop prior to upgrading from vista to windows 7 and now I cannot get it to restore back to my desktop. HELP!!!

This might be one of those programs that must be installed in order to work. I would imagine that you must install the program and have it do a restore.
Some programs keep a record of the backup on the hard drive. When you upgraded, the record might have been destroyed. If this is true, your backup software will have a utility to rebuild the index of the backup so it will work.

Hi I'll briefly describe my problem I've an external HDD (Toshiba) with NTI Backup Now EZ software installed on it, and I used it to back up my files the problem is that I can't restore my files now...

You might need to get an older version of NTI Backup Now. I had the same issue. I was using Backup Now 4 which saved everything as .nbf.files. I downloaded a trial version of Backup Now 5.5 and tried to restore the files only to find .nbf files are not compatible with version 5.5!
I sent a rather facetious e-mail to NTI moaning about this issue and they sent me a trial version of version 4. If I were you, I'd do the same. http://www.nticorp.com/en/us/product/backup_now5.asp
All my .nbf files are now restored.
