Easiest way to repair the set is replace the main board. The EEPROM (a part on the main board) has lost the boot log, this isn't a firmware issue, unless it completes the boot sequence it won't let you install any firmware updates. If you happen to have an EPROM burner in your back pocket you can freeze the IC copy the program and reinstall it and it will work, there isn't anything physically wrong with the IC other than it's lost its program because of poor protection

It's software, not firmware. It's not available from anywhere except Sharp. You need to access your country support page first.

Hello, you can download the LC-40FG5342E. My LC-40fg5242e was stuck into logo screen and i flashed with the LC-40FG5342E firmware and it´s working now.

Unzip and copy the 3 archives into a pendrive with FAT32 format.

Here ya go:

Download the latest firmware HERE
Format a USB memory stick to FAT16
Copy the contentse of the firmware zip file to the root of the USB memory stick (Root is the first view you see when you open the drive)
Plug the drive into the TV
Go through the TV menu and find the update firmware option
Pray the power doesnt go out
