My VEON V48FHD TV cycles through on and standby and wont display the source or menu on screen

Ive got a 48 FHD Veon that I want to use as a secondary monitor for my laptop. Ive connected the laptop via the VGA port on the TV. When I power the TV on I dont have a remote, Im using the on TV controls it is recognised on the laptop as an available monitor. When I select EITHER the on-set Source or Menu buttons a grey box appears on-screen momentarily then disappears. The TV then goes into standby mode. If I turn the TV on and wait I get a blank screen and the TV goes into standby mode. I have disconnected the TV from the power supply for 24 hours and tried it again, same result I suppose to clarify my problem I cant select any options in the TVs Source menu. All it displays is a grey rectangle with a grey square in it. Im assuming the grey rectangle should display the Source options, the square defines the source that is selected. The problem is the rectangle doesnt display the options and it cycles into standby mode before I can do anything even if I could see the options. Thx in advance for any help given

How to setup and operate my 55" veon TV without remote

Unfortunately you will have to purchase a remote control for it. All menu systems are within the setup display, all of which are controlled with the remote.
They may be available on eBay.

Veon television does not accept our Veon DVD player.

Connect the DVD player to the television with an HDMI Cable and use the television remote to scroll through 'Source' or 'Input' while a DVD is playing.

Is there a firmware update for the SRO9101 40" TV?

Veon TV's were sold exclusively by The Warehouse, a New Zealand distributor. If damaged, instruction were to take the TVs to The Warehouse where a diagnosis would be performed. The TV's are purportedly Chinese in origin and made in China. Your primary source of information would be through The Warehouse. I have reason to doubt they would have information related to any firmware update but you might give them a try. I notice Veon is also a communications company but do not know their link with the TV. I inspected a manaul for a Veon TV and was dumbstruck to find it neither listed a corporate address nor warranty information but simply troubleshooting. A TV technician might be able to identify the Chinese manufacturer but I suspect contact with manufacturer's of component parts would prove to be a wild goose chase with the goose speaking Chinese. As I find no OEM support page, I can only suggest you contact The Warehouse or a technician that works on such models. I find no access point to any firmware available to the general public.

I have a Veon 50 inch tv that won't turn on, but instead displays a purple glow. Is this worth fixing?

What are you using as an input? HDMI?
Did you try other inputs?

1. Try removing power from the source component by unplugging from the wall, waiting 30 seconds, and then pugging it back in.
2. Try another source cable (HDMI or component etc.)
3. Try a different TV input or source type

Veon tv manual

The eject button on the remote appears as an upward-pointing arrow with an underline - see below image. The eject button on the TV has a similar symbol.

However, I suspect that in your case, you might not be having a Remote.

This link says that your TV doesn't come with a Remote and DVD cannot be ejected without the remote :
