I have a 8gb sansa view and up until 2 days ago it would come on

The only thing coming on is the blue ring the screen is not being turned on at all.

Recovery for the Sansa View is described on the Sandisk site in 3 steps:

1. Reset the device:
http://kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/188
The reset is meant for switching the player off completely, before going to the recovery mode.
2. Force recovery mode:
http://kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/197
Recovery mode is meant for recognizing the player on the computer and making backups of files from player to the computer, before clearing the device while updating it to the latest firmware.
3. Update to the latest firmware:
http://kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/304
Updating the firmware is meant for completely erasing the players' drive and putting new software on it back again.

As you follow the instructions of the last step you'll require the "Sansa Firmware Updater".

You have a switch to turn it on or off. If you hold the 'on' switch for about 20 seconds, this will force the Sansa to turn off. It is like rebooting a computer.

Then, turn it on again, and hopefully your player will be back to normal.

Hello, I accidentally deleted my sansa view's firmware and all other data or whatever its called on the device, and I'm guessing that that's why it will not start up. I hold up, then the blue...

My Sansa view mp3 player won't work it has a black screen but the blue ring is on

Alright it seems your sansa is on its way out. I had to essentially mash on the center keypad while holding the power button in the on position before it finally worked. Be prepared to buy a new one, mine only lasted for 2 weeks after it started doing that

Sansa player is frozen with the blue ring illuminated

I had same problem a while back..

Solution is to Hold the on/off button in "turn off" position for about 50 seconds....
that's it....

Unable to power down my Sansa Fuze

sounds like its locked mine did that once i dont have the fuze i have the view but i held the off switch AFTER i unlocked the device over and over for as long as i could.....it eventually turned off or let it die then recharge it and attempt to turn it on again but i think you have it locked
