Question edited for clarity and typo.

Check the fuse in the plug (UK). Check power as far as the unit with a proximity tester. Look for a fuse in the back near where the mains cable enters. Open up and look for fuses.

A hi-fi receiver typically does not have a power supply that you can simply remove the broken one and plug the new one in. They are not designed like desktop computers. Try to locate and fix the broken component first.

My sr5004 marantz receiver has gone into standby with the indicator is blinking how do i get ride of it

If the red led is blinking fast (8x/second) the power supply is likely damaged and the unit will need to be serviced. If blinking slow, the most likely cause would be a shorted speaker connection. To help find the cause, unplug everything including the power and speakers. Connect only the power and try to turn the unit on. If the light doesn't blink, you know you have a shorted connection. Power off and connect the inputs and then power back on. If the light is not blinking, you know the problem is with an output connection. Just find the bad connection by process of elimination.

2 Press X ON/STANDBY while simultaneously pressing PRESET CH + and PRESET
CH -.
3 Once the display starts flashing at intervals of about 1 second, release the two

Check Speaker connections at BOTH ends and double check to see that they are on the right terminals.

If you need a manual . the Marantz site will have one . PLus they may have FAQ notes for that receiver
