This is not a North American machine where the website is based, India? Philippines? There is a repairer in Mumbai.

You can get your clothes out this way. Remove the drain hose and lower it into a bucket. The water will drain by gravity. When the water stops, turn off the power and the door lock should release.

There may be something in the pump jamming it, or the pump may have failed. The machine has a history of problems.

I Maytag centennial it finish it cycle but it still sounds like the water is draining

If your Maytag Centennial washing machine is making a sound like it's draining water even though there's no water in the tub, it could be an issue with the drain pump. The drain pump is responsible for removing water from the machine during the spin cycle.
Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:
  1. Unplug the washing machine and remove any remaining water from the tub manually.
  2. Check the drain hose for any kinks or blockages. If you find any, clear them out.
  3. Remove the drain pump from the washing machine and check for any clogs or damage. If you find any, clean or replace the pump as needed.
  4. Reinstall the drain pump and run the washing machine to see if the issue has been resolved.
If these steps do not solve the problem, it may be necessary to call a professional repair technician to diagnose and fix the issue.

Won't finish cycle

If you can't see a clean out drain on the bottom panel pull the panel off (three screws on bottom)...you will see the drain pump unscrew the clean out (get a bucket) these models won't finish a cycle unless ALL the water is out. nine times out of ten this is the problem. Hope this helps.

The clothes come out smelly mouldy and I want to clean it out

Just a suggestion but if you let the water level to the lowest level and then use several gallons of bleech in the water, it should kill any mold that is growing in the unit. And you won't have to take things apart to see if it works.

I would run the bleach solution first, and then run another load with just rags or something and see if there was an improvement or not.

Then do another load (without clothes) with a lot of lemon juice to finish the cleaning process.

Gw712, clothes seem to be not spun properly and still fairly damp when the cycle is finished. they used to be fairly dry before

try cleaning your filter in washing machine,if this dosent fix problem, sounds like you need a water pump,i have had a front loader for 8 years now and had the same problem, with me finding the filter with alot of cloths lint, and other things it was stopping the water pump from pumping out water, try cleaning first and checking water outlet hose were water is pumed out might be blocked with a coin, these few steps before you spend money on water pump.
hope this helps you.

My FP washing machine has starting leaving brown sludgy marks on my clothes. Do I need to descale the machine? Im in New Zealand and the water isnt particularly hard. Thanks for your time, Emma

I'm guessing you use fabric softer....Get some finish dishwashing powder and put a wash on with high water level with no cloths in it. let it do it's normal wash but before it drains any water out, pause the wash let it soak over night. next day unpause it and let it finish. Repeat if needed and do the same thing again with out any dishwashing powder in it to make sure it rinses all the soap out.
The black sludge is cause by using fabric softener. The costic in the finish powder will eat in to the sludge and soften it. If its really baked on it my need to soak for longer, more powder or it may need to be stripper and cleaned.

Water remaining in drum not finishing cycle

Your drain pump motor is either stuck or defective. Suggest you remove it and inspect. Clean it by the impeller and reinstall. Most of the time motor only needs cleaning. Let me know.

When the washer finishes the spin cycle and I open it up to remove the cloths, the water continues to drip into the drum. What do I need to do to repair this problem.

It sound's like the water inlet valve is stuck open, it's located at the back of the washer, the cold and hot water hose's connect to it, you may need to replace it with a new one to fix the drip.

When washer finishes there is a dripping of water inside unit

What has happened is you have sand in your water valve from your water. This pluggs the water valve and also sticks it open so when the water valve shuts of there is still a small trickle of water coming through the washer. Replace the water and it will fix the problem (no way of cleaning the inside of the valve.) Replace water valve.
