Kenmore washer won't Fill on Cold or Warm water settings.

I have a Kenmore washer 110.25132411 and it only fills on the Hot - Wash Temperature. The Cold and Warm settings won't turn water on during the fill cycle. I thought if the cold solenoid valve wasn't working that I would at least get hot water filling during a Warm cycle setting, though nothing. Ran the diagnostic test and no faults are present.

There might be an issue with the house water supply for the washing machine that needs to be repaired or replaced or the hose could be clogged or needs to be replaced.

Testimonial: "Fixed - Other posts suggested testing the solenoid on the water inlet valve. I tested Open Continuity and No Resistance on both coils which says they’re both failed even though I know the hot water coil was working. I then swapped the connectors between each solenoid and now hot water would be filled on every cold warm and hot cycle. Removed the connectors and tested with a meter to see both had 120 V when warm cycle was selected. The controller was operating differently when the connectors were swapped between hot and cold solenoids when I suspected only cold water to now come out. Swapped connectors back to original location and original problem continued. I replaced water inlet valve mechanism and the problem was solved. Failed part number was W10869799 Reb A from this Kenmore 500 Series top loader."

Hot and cold water are controlled by solenoids. Follow the water intake feeds till you come across a double solenoid. Check that these solenoids are being actuated when changing from hot to cold. You can unhook the output hoses and run them into a container to verify actuation. If switching does not occur check the electrical connector for damage or measure for voltage coming into the valve. With voltage present replace the valve. But if no voltage present replace the control board.

Testimonial: "Thanks Kassin- I did have voltage and replace the solenoid assembly."

I pull the knob to do a regular wash and nothing happens, no water no agitation. However, when I turn the knob to rinse it that works. This suddenly happened, was working before. Is it the knob?

Rinse on most washers is cold water your wash cycles can be cold hot and even warm. Problem You may have is a bad water feed valve Or Timer and possible bad wire harness at motor to timer
check water valve Turn washer to regular wash cycle pull knob on will washer fill ?
if water starts to fill then change washer temp if washer has this.
if water comes out on all settings water valve is fine.
Check the water both hot and cold that it is turned on;at faucet.
Your Kenmore Most likely has a bad water valve check for hot water side clog or not working.

I have a Kenmore washer model 110.98762792 and im having a problem with the cold water. When the water temperature switch is set to the cold/cold position the washer does not fill with cold water. W

Since U get warm water that tells you that the cold and hot water solenoids are both operating. Ergo the anomaly has to be with the device that controls temperature.

Front load kenmore washer will not fill on rinse cycle

yes you should have both hot and cold hooked up. if that is not possible splice the line you have and y it into both inlets. thats not the best way to do it but will solve the imediate problem.

My washer won't fill up what is the problem?

Hot and cold tap water valves not turned on.

Bad water inlet valve.

Bad control or temperature selector switch.

The water level sensor is bad.

Or you could have only the cold water hose hooked up and selecting hot wash only. Or you have the hot hose hooked up only and selecting cold wash only. Try selecting a warm wash and see if you get cold or hot water only. If you do, you'll know which is missing.

Kenmore front-load washer stops at rinse cycle

When the washer initially fills for the wash, is it only hot water entering the drum? Try switching the water temperature between hot and cold as it fills. If any of them show little or no water getting through, it sounds too easy but check to make sure water supply taps are on, and that the cold/hot fill hoses aren't reversed. Remove the fill hoses and check any of the screen filters for blockage (in the hoses and in the inlet water valve). When the machine stops and waits to fill but all you hear is a hum, it sounds like there is power going to the valve but water is not able to get through it.
Good luck!
