"I have a sharp XE-A506 cash register and the display has X1Z1 with 0.00 below it , it is not changing no matter what button/s i press and regardless which mode i turn the key to , any advise "

The error message X1Z1 with 0.00 below it on your Sharp XE-A506 cash register indicates a communication error between the control unit and the display unit. This can be caused by a number of factors, including a loose cable connection or a malfunctioning display unit. Here are some steps you can take to try and resolve the issue:
  1. Check the cable connections: Make sure all cables between the control unit and display unit are securely connected. If any cables are loose, reconnect them and see if the error message disappears.
  2. Restart the cash register: Try turning off the cash register and turning it back on again. This can sometimes help to reset the system and clear any errors.
  3. Reset the cash register to factory settings: If the issue persists, you may need to reset the cash register to its factory settings. Keep in mind that this will erase all programming and transaction data, so you should only do this as a last resort. To reset the cash register, turn the key to the PGM position, press the decimal point key, and then press the CASH button. The display should show "INIT OK" if the reset is successful.
  4. Contact a professional: If none of the above steps work, it's possible that there is a hardware issue with the display unit. In this case, it may be best to contact a professional cash register technician for assistance with diagnosing and repairing the issue.
Hopefully one of these steps will help you resolve the issue with your Sharp XE-A506 cash register display.

Need to key in my specials prices have used up all 24 preset ****

The TE-2000 should allow price over-ride as standard, so instead of just pressing the item button to ring up the preset price, type the price first on the numeric keys (NO DECIMAL POINT, so $5 = 500) then press the item button to sell it at the new price for that sale. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

How do you reset sharp xe-a302 cash register to factory defaults

Hi.
I would not recommend doing this unless you are certain that it is the cause. I have never had memory corruption in this series before, so I would strongly suggest it is being caused by another factor such as spillage in the keyboard.
Can you tell me exactly which buttons are showing the problem and what happens when you press them. Can you still make sales with the product buttons?

Mark
