First, make sure your camera can accept SDHC cards. If the camera says the card is locked, move the slide switch on the side of the card.

Smoke fume from canon sd400

You should send the camera with the battery for service to find out if there is a defect on any internal circuit boards, or if the fault is actually the battery. There is no reliable way for you to determine this yourself, unless you have the proper setup and training to service these cameras.

Canon SD400 Powershot wont turn on

I read a part solution on your web site about my Canon sd400 failing to start. The message gave a few free words about a micro swith in the cover. I couldnt find it! I called Canon tech and they said there was jo such switch. I packed up the camera and sent it off for a fix and a free firmware update. Probably going to cost $80. But I think it was the right thing to do!!

Canon SD400: horizontal lines and daylight images are overexposed (see photo)

In both the situations the problem is with the apperture control mechanism of the camera. 1). sometimes the flexible ribbion cable carrying signal to the lense assembly get worn out, replacing the same will resolve the problem. 2) in some cases the leaf blades of the apperture gets sticky, cleaning of the same solves the problem. 3). If you happen to drop the camera then the alignment of the motor moving the blades get disturbed.

In all the cases only a good repair man can fix the problem .
