If you can find a sealed lead-acid battery of the same size, with the same Amp-hour rating, then yes, you should be able to replace it.
You won't know the size or capacity rating until you open it and see what is inside.
Make sure that the unit is unplugged before you open it, and even then (since it is designed to produce 110v even when the power is out) be careful about touching any metal. If you are not familiar with electricity, you might want to just buy another one.
