My Estate washer ETW4400WQ1 will only work with hot water, no cold.

But then stops at the rinse cycle and won't go any further. Spin cycle does works. Not sure if the problem is in the selector switch, temp switch, or the water inlet valves. Any help?

Sounds like you need a water inlet valve. The solenoid on the cold part of the valve isn't letting water in. And it stops at the rinse cycle and won't advance because the rinse cycle uses the cold water side only and if it dies not fill with cold water it will not advance. That will fix your problem

Fix washing machine

WASHER WILL NOT RINSE:
If your washer doesn't go through the washer rinse cycle, the most likely cause is the water valve. What happens is the water valve will stop letting cold water into the washer; therefore, once the washer gets to rinse it will either stop or not do anything during the whole rinse cycle.
This is because when you selected your water temperature, you selected warm/cold or hot/cold. The hot water came in and you didn't notice any problems. When it got to rinse, the cold water the cold water won't come in. Therefore, the washer does nothing.
To check the water valve, first cut the water off and remove the hoses off the back of the washer. Then one at a time point the hoses inside the washer tub and turn the water back on. If you don't have good water pressure, turn the water back off and remove the strainer that should be in one end of the hose. Inspect the strainer to see if it is stopped up, clean it and reinstall it. Now repeat this test. If you have good water pressure now, reinstall hose and your problem is fixed.
If you still don't have good water pressure, the problem is in your house plumbing and you need to call a plumber. If you had good water pressure the first time you performed the test, the water valve is bad and needs replacing.
TIMER
If your washer doesn't go through the washer rinse cycle the timer may be the problem. Sometimes the timer gets stuck in the middle of the cycle or won't turn at all. If the washer runs, but the timer doesn't turn, the timer is bad and needs replacing.
Do you have anti-flood hoses leading to the machine. If you do there is probably a loose tube in the back causing a small leak. When the hoses detect that water is still flowing after a certain amount of time due to the leak it shuts down and causes the machine to turn off during the rinse/spin cycle

No hot water getting into Estate topload washer. Have to turn off cold tap completely to get hot washer for wash cycle. Then turn cold tap back on for rinse cycle.

One simple thing to try is to clean them screens on the water valve. Remove the hoses and get the screens out. Give em a clean or chunk em and wash on!

My estate washing machine will not spin out, all of the other cycles work correctly.

Hello
Try to clean the magnetic door switch, some windex and a paper towell.Just do the part on the door or lid and where the lid meets the top of the magnet.Make sure this is not loose and is seated in the machine.

You may need to unplug machine and remove the door switch, take both wires and tie them togther so they make contact. Then try a wash cycle or try the spin cycle.
The door switches in the estate washers fall apart and get corroded and can stop the spin cycle.

If the machine works with the switch taken out then you will need to get a new one from whirlpool.

The washing machine won't start if "cold water" only is selected. It will only work when "warm water" or "hot water" is selected (and even then there is only hot water filling the machine, the cold water...

Check the cold water solenoid. If a meter is not available you can swap the hot and cold wires and see if the symptom changes to hot water when cold is selected. If so the mixing valve needs replaced. If no then further testing of the wire harness and timer circuit are needed.

My Whirpool Estate washer will not rinse spin or drain

The motor turns in one direction to wash and the other to spin. If it will not spin I feel sure it's a bad motor.

Won't complete cycle, stops at rinse. and can't get hot water.

Are you on well water? turn off the cold water to the washer and clean the screen filter out. do not leave filter out.
the machine probably has a cold only final rinse so it won't work properly.

Kenmore front-load washer stops at rinse cycle

When the washer initially fills for the wash, is it only hot water entering the drum? Try switching the water temperature between hot and cold as it fills. If any of them show little or no water getting through, it sounds too easy but check to make sure water supply taps are on, and that the cold/hot fill hoses aren't reversed. Remove the fill hoses and check any of the screen filters for blockage (in the hoses and in the inlet water valve). When the machine stops and waits to fill but all you hear is a hum, it sounds like there is power going to the valve but water is not able to get through it.
Good luck!

Spin cycle not removing enough water from clothes

your manual states that it can be caused by cold rinses and or spin cycle not getting completed. please try to rinse in hot or warm and see if that does not solve your problem

Does Not Rinse

Check each temperature during initial wash fill. Set to hot water, is hot water coming out? Set to cold water, is cold water coming out? The rinse cycle is cold only. If cold water is not working machine will just stop at rinse.

If cold water not working:
Disconnect cold water hose from machine. Inspect the filter screen on the cold water connection. DO NOT REMOVE SCREEN. If full of debris, use a spray bottle with a hard spray to remove debris. If unable to remove or cold is still not working, replace valve.

Lg washing machine wft855a top loader

Following up my comment from yesterday, I took the machine apart and discovered that the black rubber cover on the valve that releases the cold water had perished and cracked, and wasn't opening properly.
I tested the hot and cold solenoids and everything checked out ok. Was just the cold valve sticking.
The wash cycle was working because I was using hot/warm water. As the rinse cycle needs cold water to get started, it was not working and the rinse and spin cycles wouldn't complete.
I have swapped the valves over for now (put the working hot one on the cold side and am using cold water only). It's working while I order a replacement...
