Philco turntable CD 841.205. Need a replacement for the plastic gizmo that connects the tonearm to the turntable power switch.

The tonearm got pushed too far to the right and the little plastic connector snapped. It didn't respond well to plastic model cement. Trying superglue, but hoping a replacement part is available. Any thoughts?

Motor on philco turntable not working

Most of these motors run on about 9 to 12 volts DC. You can connect a 9 volt battery to the terminals of the motor. Make certain the rest of the system is off and the motor power leads are not connected to the main system. If the motor doesn't turn with the battery it's faulty. If it does then you are perhaps looking at some switch that has failed or the power to the motor itself!

A few years ago I purchased a Philco capital turntable CD cassette. One day my wife was listening and for some reason she pressed the standby button, ever since then nothing will work. The power does come...

maybe the button when being pressed isn't releasing through a bad button . it would make sense that when the button is pushed it stops all functions so if you r able to disconect the button from the wires tape the wires together to create a closed circuit and see if it works personally i would take it to a repair facility for the safety factor of messing around with it but if u want try it

Philco suitcase turntable / cd belt drive

Place the rubber band around the turntable and put a paper clip, bent up behind the rubber band. Start the turntable on it's spindle and you will be able to view that drive spindle on the right side, slowly pull the rubber band with the paperclip and drop over the drive spindle. remove paperclip and push turntable down seating it and replace the lock snap.

Feedback humming noise

This is a tonearm issue. Your tonearm probably has a loose ground connection, or if you moved it recently, may have been damaged in transit. Also, try and move your turntable to a different location in the room. If your near any serious power source (light dimmer switch, microwave, frig, etc), it will only amplify the issue. But other than that, it sounds like a common tonearm issue, and you will need to have your tonearm replaced.

Turntable will not turn

This is a fully manual turntable, meaning, the tonearm will not engage a switch that powers up the unit. You have to turn it on. The power switch is towards the rear of the unit, on the top, right at the rear of the tonearm. You'll see a button. Press that button, and your unit should power up.

If it does not power up, then you have a faulty unit. If you bought this new, I would suggest returning it. If it is not new, then either you have a bad fuse, or burned out transformer. The fuse you can replace yourself, but the transformer requires a technician.

Hope this helps.

Audio connections

Unless you had your tonearm replaced previously, perhaps the technician did not route the cables correctly through the tonearm base. If so, then this would explain why it works after you raised the tonearm height.

If not, then consider yourself lucky that you didn't have to replace the tonearm. Often times, replacing the RCA cables correct the problem. However, if it does not, the next step is to replace the tonearm. And if neither works, your issue is with your cartridge or headshell (which you should have checked first). Or sometimes, the work was not done correctly when the RCA or Tonearm was replaced - so make sure you use a reputable service tech for this. If you are going to do this yourself, make sure you triple check your work.
