Need replacement for GE Profile Model # JB910SL6SS- have a cracked glass, NLA according to GE, HELP

These can be tricky, first remove everything you can from the glass top then very carefully using two small screwdrivers like tyre levers gently go around the outside & the glass top will lift off.

1 Unplug cooktop or disconnect power.
2. Remove the cooktop from its mounting
location, (see “Installation Instructions” in
Section 2). Position the cooktop so that
you can access the bracket screws below
the cooktop glass
3. Remove the fourteen flat-head screws
from the front, rear, and side ceramic glass
brackets.
4. Remove the two small side brackets from
the cooktop base.
5. Lift and remove the ceramic glass from the
cook top base.

Yes the glass is replaceable, you will have to order a new one, and you could do so through an appliance parts store. They can even put it in for you.

If you dont see it around the door or inside the stove you'll have to raise the top and it should be there somewhere. The part number for the glass top I can get for you if I have the model number

Yes, the glass cook top can be replaced. These counter top inserts are actually fairly simple to repair, but the entire assembly usually has to be uninstalled to accomodate removing the glass top and installing a new one. You will need to provide a model number by opening the cabinet underneath the cook top and looking for a nameplate in order for me to assist you further in determing a part number, cost and how to disassemble.

its not too bad.kill the power.then under the frount of the top where the top meets the oven door .under there are screws remove those and the top lifts up as on hinges.their is a ground screw wire to loose and unplug the the wire harness that connects the burners to the rest of the stove.then all is disconnected so lift entire top off from hinged area and set upside down on table.transfer all burners to new top thats nexted to old one upside down also.when done reinstall.ive done lots wont be bad.please dont for get to help me with my rateings.God bless ,tom

It all depends on our capabilities... The top isn't all that difficult to replace. If it were me, I would call GE Factory Service 1-800-432-2737 or schedule an appointment online at www.geappliances.com as there may still be a warranty on the top which is expensive...

The cooktop will need to be removed from the counter. Turn it upside down and remove the screws. The biggest problem will be removing the cooktop from the counter. Sometimes it is not worth fixing as the part could cost around $400. NEVER use a cracked top as it could suddenly explode. This is tempered glass and very unstable if cracked or chipped.
