Took needleplate off of Brother Serger 1034D now what?

The thread kept making a nest everytime I would try to sew something. Anyway I took the needleplate off thinking it might need to be cleaned real good. Took out both screws, well when I took the small screw out I heard something fall and can not get the screw to go back in. When I try to screw it back in there is like something is missing on the bottom side. Anyone have any suggestions?

Why does the upper looper thread keep busting?

Quite possibly the machine is not threaded correctly, the tension setting for that looper is too tight (could be the upper looper tension disk is stuck or dirty causing the thread to hang), or the thread is looped around something like the thread tree.

Replace the needles. Remove all the thread and re-thread from the beginning. Be sure to RAISE the presser foot before threading. Make sure to thread the threads in the correct order.

Thread nesting below plate with material pulled down inside also.

you might check your upper and lower knives. If they have a chip out of them or are dull some material just will not feed

Brother 1034d handwheel stuck

the best thing to do is take the machine in to have it checked.
sergers are nice & very useful, I have a babylock serger with the jet-air
looper threading systerm, and I use it alot when making clothes.
I even used my serger to serge the ends of fabric that I haven't used yet
so the ends won't fray.

How do you thread a 1034D serger?

Hi
I found the manual on the Brother site.
http://www.brother-usa.com/ModelDocuments/Consumer/Users%20Manual/UM_1034D_ENES_178.PDF
Look at page 21 onwards of the PDF file for info on threading the machine.
Hope this helps!

Hi i just got a new brother 1034D serger. And I'm

I found that I had to remove the stitch finger to thread the machine properly. Do remember to re-install it before starting to sew. If you are using 3-threads only, then remove and store the stitch finger.
Puzzled that this instruction is not in the threading section of the manual.
