Question about Sony Cameras
I've had this camera for a couple of years now and ever since then the battery has completely died. I wanted to get the footage out of the memory stick in the camera since I had alot of good memories in there. When I wanted to put it on a tripod I accidently dropped it (small 8 inch fall I believe) and it shut off even though I had it plugged in to power, so I unplugged and plugged it back in then turned it on. The camera worked for 5 seconds untill an error saying "Cannot use battery in the camcorder." with error code "C:04:00" even though I had no battery in the camera and it was plugged in to power? Weird thing is that when I press the DISP/BATT INFO button it turns on and after 5 seconds it shows the same error from before (this does not happen when there is no battery in the camera). I've ran out of solutions to fix this and I've tried pressing the reset button and nothing worked. Anything helps!
You damaged a circuit send it in for repair

There isn't any stores that repair old cameras or tech near me, if possible could you tell me which circuit I broke? Because one year ago I've actually encountered this error once when I didn't have the battery in but after unplugging and plugging it decided to work properly.

They need the batteries in them for all functions and generally there are two. One is the main battery that you recharge and can swap out if you do a lot of filming. The second one is a small coin cell that holds the memory when the main battery is removed. It is the same as the CMOS battery in a computer.
Both batteries need to be inside the Camcorder and charged.

I've had no batteries inside the camera and ran it thru the AC adapter with no problems aside from all of the settings getting reset when it loses all power from it being plugged in before.
Although I am confused about the cell battery, does this camera have one? And if so is it possible to replace it inside?
187 mentions of the word 'battery' in 159 pages of text, and there isn't one, or if there is, it is internal.
I still think it needs the main battery. It says the battery in 'InfoLithium' and is proprietary to the camera. It communicates information to the camera. Or the fault is due to the drop.

I don't know, the camera has worked perfectly fine without the battery for quite a long time so might have been the fall.
When it fell, it hit the power cord first and landed on the DVD cover. Maybe something around that side broke or got disconnected? I'll try finding a battery on AliExpress, but thanks for the help!
You are very welcome. :>D
