Just installed alpine cda-7863. Nothing but static on all Am fm stations thoroughly checked all connections on the deck are properly attached also car antenna is sound help

If the wiring checks good you may have bad solder connections it the radio or the contacts on the face and subpanel (the part the face connects to on the front of the deck). Try cleaning the contacts on the face and subpanel with either qtips and rubbing alcohol or a pencil eraser. An old toothbrush dipped in rubbing alcohol might work too.
Hi. On the back of the ISO lead switch the red and the yellow. The VW constant positive (station memory) comes off a different pin to other cars. Therefore when you are switching your engine off you are switching the memory power.
What type of vehicle is it in? Some manufacturers, such as Toyota, use separate antenna plugs for AM and FM that cannot be plugged into an aftermarket unit at the same time.
Disconnect whatever is attached to the BLUE wire at the back of the Alpine deck. Re-connect it to the BLUE/WHITE wire instead. This should solve your problem.
this makes good sense ill try it mine done the same thing and when out in had hook strait to battery i was trying to find the short thinking face plate or wire harness i found i can lightly squeeze the unit and it go off what would be the best shim
